Dining at Walt Disney World: Victoria & Albert’s
Location: Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
Tidbit: Even though this restaurant is located at a resort, anyone can eat here. If you are driving, just let the gate keeper know you have a dining reservation and he will let you park. If you are taking Disney transportation, you will need to take a bus from your resort to a park or Downtown Disney and then transfer to the bus for the resort where the meal is located.

I don’t think I could ever eat at a place where it is over a 100 dollars a person to eat. I got married at the Poly and still didn’t have my wedding night dinner there. We ate at the Captain’s Grille (before they changed the menu) and it was amazing and not 200 dollars.
I want to go here so bad but just haven’t had the time or the money to do so. I am tihinking the next time we go down is a more relaxing vacation where we are not planning on something every day (which is a rarity for us) and maybe hubby & I can get away for an evening and leave the kids with my parents. We are both foodies and know that this would be an awesome experience, and now that I we both are in good paying jobs we can afford the splurge! :)
I surprised my husband on our family trip to Disney in 2008 with a date to Victoria and Alberts . He is a Chef and restauranteur, and they went above and beyond for us. We even received a private tour of the kitchen and a behind the scenes look at how the restaurant operated. We both to this day say that it was the BEST dinning experience that either of us have had. We often go to restaurants several times a year that are comparable but nothing has topped it. I even still have our personalized menu’s. I can’t wait to take our kids once they are old enough. (We still have quite a few years to go)
Victoria & Alberts is the most amazing place. I’ve been fortunate enough to eat there twice, once in the dining room with my mom while I was at Disney for an interview to get into DIsney’s Culinary Academy. And the second time was on New Year’s Eve in 1998, for my 20th Birthday…my family ate at the Chef’s Table in the kitchen (a $700.00 dinner that my dad won’t let me forget). Both experiences were amazing!!! I especially loved my birthday dinner. It was even more magical because I worked at the Grand Floridian so I knew the chef of the restaurant and most of the other chefs too, they never give New Year’s Eve off to the cast members, but I had told them during my interview that I had gotten reservations for the Chef’s Table and they were so impressed and let me take the night off. My parents, brother, and his girlfriend came from Illinois, we all dressed to the nines and went to dinner. After, we went to the Magic Kingdom all dressed up. Other guests kept looking at us all dressed up (I felt like a movie star). Anyway the food and service at Victoria and Alberts is in a class all it’s own. I still have my menus and the roses I got both times I was there. It’s also the place where the movie stars eat when they come to the parks. So, look around while you’re dining there, you never know who you might see.
My husband and I make this a special event every so often when we travel to Disney World. We save up the money ahead of time since it is a big expense. When you get there they present you with a menu personalized for you. It is an 8 course meal but the food is not your usual fare. You should be prepared to eat things you never thought you would (turtle, buffalo, etc.) But I can assure you, you will not be disappointed. The flavors are so memorable, I can still taste them and my last time there was a few years ago. You have the option to purchase wine pairings which is a different glass of wine to go with each course based on your menu choices. I highly recommend this. It really does take the meal to a new level! The end of the meal finishes with the most amazing coffee ever and a fabulous dessert. The females are presented with a boxed long-stem red rose when they leave. The service and meal cannot be compared. This is like my “long-weekend” away from the kids in one evening. We hire a Disney certified sitter to watch the kids and enjoy the night, worry free and in style. It’s pampering at it’s best if you love a good meal!
My husband and I went last year for our 10th anniversary. We are long time foodies and had been dying to eat there. From the first phone call to the minute we left, we were treated so well! The woman taking the reservation spent a good 30 minutes taking down information about my husband and I’s likes and dislikes. When I called her back a couple months later and asked for a small favor to add to something I had bought my husband, she willingly obliged and the people at the restaurant played along perfectly (I bought he and I titles of Lord and Lady and they called us by that all night…LOL)! When my husband called to find out if they offered my favorite champagne, they told him they weren’t sure. When we were seated and ordering champagne, it was not on the menu (Piper Heidsieck) and we asked our server. He came back to tell us they didn’t carry it, but was quickly pulled away by the manager. He returned with a bottle that they had gotten just for us! Our personalized menus were taylored to the things we had shared when we made the reservation – HIM = no vegetables and seafood was only ahi or seared scallops, ME=no fish whatsoever.
As far as the food itself, most of it was amazing. The cheese plate is to die for! Hubby had the wagyu and it was like eating meat flavored butter. I had a couple dishes that were heavy-handed on the salt which was disappointing but everything else made up for it. This is a must try restaurant for anyone who likes food and wants a pampered experience as they dine. Be willing to try things you might not usually try. It will be worth it! P.S. Tables in Wonderland discount dining card works here and gives you a 20% discount on food and alcoholic beverages. We saved a FORTUNE – literally about $150!
It is an outstanding once in a lifetime(ok for us twice) experience! From the time you walk in to the time you leave you are awed by the Disney Magic! The food was out of this world and the waitstaff was incredible! If you ever get the chance to dine there do so! From the live harp that was playing to the rose given as we were leaving everything was perfect.
My husband and I dined here almost 8 years ago and got engaged. It is an amazing place to eat and I love that the menu was unique, the servers were very attentive and the food was amazing. They went above and beyond and placed my ring in the box on a silver platter inside a red rose. If you can splurge I totally recommend it.
