Tidbit: Even though this restaurant is located at a resort, anyone can eat here. If you are driving, just let the gate keeper know you have a dining reservation and he will let you park. If you are taking Disney transportation, you will need to take a bus from your resort to a park or Downtown Disney and then transfer to the bus for the resort where the meal is located.

Special Events:
The wait staff here likes to have fun with the guests. Be careful if you ask for Ketchup. Do note: while the staff still does like to have fun, it will not be as loud as previous dining experiences. As staff has “turned down the volume” to be considerate of other Resort guests.
My recommended reservation times:
Try to reserve an off time such as 11:30 am, 2:30 pm or 4:30 pm.
My experiences:
We enjoyed breakfast here on one of our trips. The food was really good and the waiter was very friendly. If we go again, I think we will do dinner instead.

We have eaten dinner her twice, each time we had reservations for 5 or 5:30. We were seated promptly. Each time I ordered the skillet and it was very tasty. My husband had the pasta dish the first time and then the second time he had the skillet, he said he really enjoyed the pasta dish. I really enjoyed this restaurant because it was so family oriented. No one cares if a baby is smearing macaroni on the table, b/c heck, the waitresses are throwing napkins and straws at you (haha), my daughter and cousins got a kick out of that! The pony race is cute too, especially for the real little ones. We were also lucky enough to participate in the ketchup run, which was hilarious :)
This was a resturant that I walked out of never wanting to eat ever again b/c I was so full! The skillet and then of course I had to get the unlimited vanilla milkshake (sooooo good!) and then try to squeeze dessert there, they had to roll me out of whispering canyon cafe haha! Will do again one day in the future, fun and well worth it.
We ate here our very first meal at DW. What an experience!!! It is the perfect place for anyone who has a good sense of humor and isn’t looking for a “quiet” meal. We did the skillet and it was good but I think I will try something else next time. Loved loved loved the milkshakes and the staff are kick in the pants. My dad is quite the “ham” and he loved every bit of it. WE WILL DEFINATELY BE RETURNING!
We love this restaurant. We’ve eaten there twice. The first time was a lot more fun than the second time. It really depends on your server. After my second refill they brought me this huge drink and told me there was a prize if I finished it. Since I’m always up for a challenge, I finished it off so they brought me a fast pass to the the bathroom. The food was good and filling. My mom and I couldn’t remember the last time we laughed so hard.
We love love love this restarant!! It is a must for us now for every trip to Disney. The waitress was hilarious and provided much comic relief at the expense of my husband:-) The food is awesome and we loved the endless milkshakes. We definitely recommend this to all our friends that are going to Disney.
LOVE this place!! The food is so good and the waitstaff is hysterical!! The food is great comfort food and the desserts are delicious. Also, it’s a great chance to see the WL, it’s a beautiful lobby!!
This is such a fun restaurant!! The high energy was PERFECTLY DISNEY!!!
My husband and I really enjoyed the Whispering Canyon Cafe. It’s in a beautiful resort! The food was delicious we both had the canyon skillet. We laughed when someone needed ketchup and they got what they needed and more brought to their table. We don’t have kids but when we do we’ll definitely bring them here they have pony races I believe every half hour where the kids get to run around the edge of the restaurant with the pony head sticks. Also if you’re an apple pie lover like me then you’ll be in heaven here!
Oh man! You have to dine here!! it is definitely a family fun atmosphere. There is an a la carte menu as well as an all you can eat meal. The food is brought to your table and sits on this giant lazy susan that you can spin and rotate to reach for the food. The waiters are loud, super animated, entertaining, very corny, and tons of fun:) The fare is BBQ and there is plenty to choose from on the menu. Make sure you ask for some “ketchup” and a “large glass of water”. Be prepared for the waiter’s response! It’s a hoot!!!
We have eaten dinner here two times and have enjoyed them both. The food is wonderful and there is so much that you can’t eat it all! The atmosphere definitely keeps us coming back for more. The stick horse rides through the restaurant, KETCHUP, and the waiters and waitress are priceless!
whispering canyon cafe tops the list of best places to eat while at WDW. The atmosphere is unique, the staff is tons of fun and I must say they get the whole resturaunt involved in various things(pony races anyone??)
Wilderness Lodge is my family’s favoirte and so we’ve eaten at Whispering Canyon 2 times that I can remember, once for lunch and once for dinner. The food was about average but what sets this place apart is the wait staff. They are hilarious and worth it just for the show they put on. It is definitely worth going just don’t expect wonderful food.
We were there with our 5 year old daughter in Dec. 2009. We all loved it. They have a toy table for kids to play while waiting on your reservation. All the milkshakes you can drink. What’s not to love!!! We had the steak and it was delicious. We were so full they gave us our dessert to take back to our room with us. A great experience.
We love Whispering Canyon!
First off, the service is hysterical… all types of little antics going on around you all the time. If you go, ask for ketchup, tell them (or show them) that you’re REALLY thirsty, and play along with whatever your server brings your way.
Next, you’ve got the food… bottomless skillets are most popular. Just note that the lunch and dinner skillets are different… and the price is considerably less at lunch time. The meats, of course, are delectable (disclaimer: opinion of a carnivorous beast right here). It also comes with salad, cornbread, beans, and mashed potatoes. But also consider other items on the menu. I’ve had the pulled pork spring rolls with BBQ mayo off the appetizer menu a couple of times now, and simply love ’em! They’ve got some traditional American desserts, but you might be too full for them! Another option – breakfast… may not be very different food-wise than breakfasts elsewhere on property, but there’s a bottomless breakfast skillet too! So if you like the idea of all-you-can-eat scrambled eggs, biscuits, potatoes, bacon, sausage, gravy, and mickey waffles, this is a cheaper option than many buffets on property.
Finally, it’s in the Wilderness Lodge! Even if you’re not staying there, it’s a great excuse to visit! Magnificent lobby (especially at Christmas time)! Roam around the resort while you’re there… inside and out. Bring a camera.
this was the first place we ate on our vacation last fall. we were staying at wilderness lodge. it’s loud, happy, fun, with great food and tons of it! loved the vinegar slaw. we did have reservations so we didn’t wait long at all even though it was packed, but there are lincoln logs in the waiting area, and my husband & daughter loved playing with those for a few minutes.
We went here last week on our trip for dinner, and we loved it. My son loved racing around on the wooden horse. We all laughed so much with the ketchup thing. We liked the all you care to eat skillet, we will definately come back.
We eat here every year! Its one of our top two favorites! We love the food and all the antics the waiters/waitresses put on! Be sure to have the kids ask for ketchup here! :-)
We stayed there and dined there on our second trip to WDW. It was over-crowded and the service was horrible! They are so busy “acting” that the service and food, suffered. Then the waitress spilled my drink on me. It was enough for us not to go back. Oh well.
I love this place…BOTTOMLESS MILKSHAKE, need I say more? Really though, my 11 year old nephew got a kick out of the huge like 2 liter size mason jar his drink refill came in. And the table next to us was busy constructing a huge straw hooking like 10 together so one person could drink from across the table…it was hilarious. And the waitress, you know, “Lil’ mamma” who was called that because when she was growing up she wanted to have 10 kids, or some variation of that story.
This place was a lot of fun. The kids really loved it and the food was massive.
The kids rode horses around the tables (wood ones) and when you needed ketchup WATCH OUT!!!
It is a must do for our next trip in Dec. My girls and I really enjoyed it. this upcoming trip my hubby and my parents get to try it out for the first time since they didn’t get to try it out when my children and I went in Aug. It is not quite by any means. I have not seen my children ride stick ponies since my children were kids, my girls are 14 and 11. You will really enjoy
Oh my gosh!!! We stayed at the wilderness lodge last time we went!!! Love this restaurant! I asked for ketchup n the waitress yelled at the top of her longs for everyone to bring me their ketchup!! LOL now I was 15 at the time, so I was a little embarrassed, but I can’t wait to take my kids there. And they call all the kids up and let them gallop around on little horse head sticks. So cute!!
We had our wedding reception there in May 2009. It was AWESOME! We were on a strict budget, and no way was I spending $100 and up per person for lunch. There were 20 in our wedding party, and the limo got us all there from the Boardwalk in a few trips. We all ordered the “all you can eat” – adults and kids. We rode around on the wooden horses in our wedding attire, and everyone had a great time. I used my Tables in Wonderland card and saved 20% on the tab, too!
I’d always loved the idea of a ‘backyard BBQ’ if we got married at home, so this was perfect for our Disney wedding. I highly recommend it. They offer a good variety of foods if someone in your party doesn’t really like BBQ, which is another reason we had our reception lunch here.
It’s a must go to for my family. Was recommended by a lady through reservations 6 years ago to us. We took a boat from magic kingdom to the resort at early evening and were seated as scheduled. The food was great andore than we could eat. The entertainment and service was amazing. Our kids were 8, 10, and 14 and loved it. My husband drinks a lot of tea and after his second refill they brought him a huge jar with a giant straw. Lol. The kids asked for ketchup and got all the bottles on the resturant. It’s lots of fun for everyone. We Sven found a video arcade in the lodge so the kids and husband played some games to. The last time we were there the kids couldn’t wait to go.
We dined there a few years ago. We actually dined there 2 times on that trip, both times for breakfast. The first time everyone got the Canyon Skillet. It was ok, I felt like I dind’t eat my money’s worth, because I am so picky. The next time we went I just ordered what I knew I would eat so I didn’t waste money. They do have stick pony races around the restaurant.
We LOVE Whispering Canyon too! There is nothing “whispering” about it! It is so much fun! We ate there this past August and can’t wait to go again next year! We danced the hokee pokee around the restaurant! When we asked for ketchup, all the other guests delivered it to us! We had 18 bottles on our table! Then, when another table asks for ketchup, we took them ours plus more! Luv, luv, luv this restaurant!!!
We ate there in April of 2009 and it was great.
This is our FAVORITE restaurant at Disney! My son loves the fact that you can race wooden horses around the restaurant. He also loves asking for ketchup and they yell across the restaurant for ketchup. Anyone with a ketchup bottle on their table, has to bring it to your table. You could end up with 20 bottles of ketchup. My son LOVES that! The food is great too. We went for our daughter’s birthday and they had her stand in the chair and everyone in the restaurant had to sing to her. It was great! I can’t say enough great things about this place!
We love Whispering Canyon!!! My husband and I took our then 3 year old son there on our weeklong Disney trip for his birthday! He had to much fun dancing around the restuarant and especially delivering ketchup to tables who needed some!
