Here’s a wonderful Epcot’s Behind the Seeds Tour review at Epcot’s Living with the Land pavilion from my friend Tammy.
I love “The Land” ride at Epcot. Possibly because I can’t seem to make things grow… :)
I had said for the last year that I would like to go on the “Behind the Seeds Tour” that goes along with the ride. For our anniversary, my husband took me on the tour. It is a one-hour walking tour for about $40 per person.
Our tour guide was Lenore. She was very informed (and fun)… she even made a “prawn-tree” to go the prawns tank! How cool is that!
We got to see up close how hydroponics work… and how aquaponics work… AND they even showed us how we can do the hydroponics at home! I have to admit, I’m once again going to try to grow something!
She gave us a “snack” of one of the cucumbers they had harvested that day. We found out how they make some of the vegetables into Mickey shapes. Lenore even let us feed the alligators and tilapia!
This tour is in addition to the park entry… but it’s only about $20 per person. I would say that it is most definitely well worth the money.

Psst… You’ve got both $20 and $40 per person listed as the price here. The correct price is $20 – but it is less for children. (Just thought I’d help out.)
Last November my husband, daughter, her friend and I went to Disney. Since we never did this tor we decided to try it. We all loved it, very informative and alot to learn. We had a great time and would suggest that anyone would enjoy this. Make it one of your things to do next time you visit Disney and the price is reasonable too
I would love to do this!
Very cool! I didn’t even know this existed! My dad is a farmer (as well as the rest of his side of the family), so whenever we go as a grand gathering (which has been the last few times) we always make it a point to visit The Land ride! They’d probably be very interested in this tour!
