Looking for Tips On How To Get A Disney Pin Code? Disney offers exclusive discounts for your vacation called PIN codes. (It’s referred to as a PIN code because there is a numerical pin attached to the offer.) No one knows for sure how you get on the PIN list, but they suggest that you sign up for all the different freebies that Disney offers just in case:
- Request your copy of the Disney Vacation DVD
- Create an account at Disney.com and saving your family’s information and vacation dates.
- Follow these tips on how to get a pin code.
I received my first ever PIN in October 2009 (my one and only so far!). The PIN is a code that is attached to your name. You can not transfer it, it is exclusive to you and your family. You can book up to 3 rooms/trips with the PIN code though. I received the PIN in an email titled “A Magical Disney Deal, (last name) Family” and I found it in my spam folder!
PIN codes are emailed infrequently for a variety of dates. The offers vary drastically too. Sometimes it’s free dining before it’s offered to the public, discounts on just your hotel room, etc. There is really no telling when or what you will get. You can always call Disney at (407) 939-7675 to see if their is a PIN attached to your name.
You can go ahead and make a reservation with your PIN even if you aren’t 100% sure you want to use it. You are just required to pay a deposit. And if a better deal comes out between now and then, you can call and change your reservation to reflect the new special. (There is a penalty if it is within 45 days of your arrival date.)
So good luck everyone! I hope you can receive a PIN code for your vacation that you can use!

Just got an email for a pin code – at least it looked like the picture above and had the same email title – but it didn’t include any actual numbers for a “pin code” and it didn’t seem like that great of a deal! What gives?
I was bummed out over not getting a code this year and found this site through google. Did the things you recommended and sure enough a pin code hit my inbox 2 days later! YAY!!
That’s awesome! :)
We have been going to Disney for many years and want to go again. We are also looking at Universal so would like to get a pin for Disney and would just continue to go to Disney.
When you call the Disney reservations, you can ask them if there are any codes or specials associated with your name & they will check. They won’t check unless you ask. I did this a year ago & received 30% off our room rate.
Do the pins expire? We are in the VERY preliminary stages of planning a trip and are not even sure when we are going exactly.
Just a note about the PIN code – I got one. But when I tried to use it they had no record of it. They did however get permission to give me the same deal that I had been sent. I got a very helpful agent and while they offered me the same deal I had been mailed, I ended up going with a different package. Fearful of the cancellation fee I was told that I didn’t have to cancel. I could change the dates if I was going to come at a different time. As long as the package I chose for the future was not cheaper than the package I had currently, there was no penalty. I thought that was good news since we never know what might come up at vacation time that could spoil our plans.
I have signed up for everything WDW I can find and can’t seem to get a PIN to save my life but we always get PINS sent to our email or by mail in our kids’ names. I don’t know how that happens but we are able to use them as long as they are connected to the address, phone number or email address of one of the people on the reservation.
I didn’t know anything about the pins! Guess my new goal is to get a pin. Lol
Also, I love this “training guide” you have put together. I though I knew a good bit, but there is some great info here that I didn’t know!!!
I got something from disney how do I know its a special PIN.
I received a pin number for a discount on the resort we were looking at. Then free dining came out. The Disney rep told me that we can only use 1 offer for our reservation so we took the free dining (cheaper!). My friend didn’t get a pin but was able to get the free dining and 10% off her room for the same week. Isn’t that using 2 offers?
I get a PIN almost every year. When I spoke to the people at Disney about it. They said the more frequent yo visit the more likely it is for youto get a PIN number. We have been 8 times in the last 6 years and have already scheuled 2 trips for this year. Both of the trips this year were booked with PIN numbers.
Good luck to everyone!!!!!
17 days to go!!!!
Wow! That is awesome! :)
I have been planning a trip for after Thanksgiving. After reading this post, I called Disney and there was a code linked to my info. I was able to shave more off the cost of my trip! Thanks so much for passing this great information on to us!
The day you bring it up. i received one!!! i haven’t been planning very long. just in the past few weeks. Pretty surprized. Could it be linked up with website & credit card?
Kristin,
Was there a “special deal” on a placecard on the nightstand or table in your room. I have seen the “CD” one and “book before you checkout” deep discounts on past stays. If you don’t have the one you want, and if you are not shy, ask another guest at the resort if they have one. I have done this while sitting at the pool, etc. I am always talking to people though…If they have one that you want, you can just get the pin number and use it. They are not room specific, just resort specific.
Kathie – It is something that everyone can get. :)
I Have Gotten Many PIN’S I Actually Thought Everyone Got The Same Ones…But I Am on Ther Email List I have Created Customized Maps And Order a Vaction Planning DVD And a FL Resedent Not Sure if that Helps :)
I hear there are some sort of PIN for the picture CD that gives a hefty discount only if you stay at on Disney property. Not sure if this is something everyone can get or if just some guests get the special price. I know the CD is something I’m really looking forward to when we got to go as I am a picture nut and always want more then my DH thinks is reasonable.
Here is a link to get a discount on the CD

I got a $50 discount on the Memory Maker photo option. I booked almost 6 months in advance. I don’t know if that had anything to do with it or not. I booked tickets and a value resort room. Hope that helps.
I tried this to get a PIN code, and it worked. I logged into the Walt Disney World website, then I built an itinerary for the trip dates I want that said I was staying offsite and did not need tickets. Then I built another itinerary for the same dates that said I was staying on-site and already had tickets. I also saved two quotes for rooms for my trip dates. Every time I exited the reservations module, when it asked why I didn’t book, I chose “I don’t feel that this is the best value” (paraphrasing). Logged back in and fiddled with it a couple of days later, and deleted the itinerary that said I was staying offsite. A couple of hours later, I got a PIN code in my e-mail for 20% off values, 30% off moderates, and 40% off deluxes and deluxe villas for the remainder of the year (a few date ranges for holidays excluded). I think the system sees that somebody is building an itinerary to stay offsite, and that they are returning to the site to add or subtract things from the itinerary, so it sends out a PIN. That is just my thinking about it. It does not hurt to try something that only takes a few minutes and it seems to have worked for me, I got a PIN. So give it a shot, you never know!
how far into the cart did you have to go before you got the response asking you why you did not book? I never see that question.
We have been to Disneyworld 9 times in the past 10 years. January 2009 we booked 4 rooms for a family trip; 2 for us, 1 for my brother and family, 1 for my Mother; using our Email but rooms booked in their names. Since then we have received pin codes twice in both their names to our email but none in our name. We are using one for free dining in June 2010 as my mother is again going with us and using it for a total of 9 people in three rooms. Cool but wish I knew how to get them!
I know most of you will hate me for this, but our family gets a pin code at least 4 times a year. That is the only reason we are able to visit so much. Usually as soon as we finish one trip, we get a new pin code within the month. I have never paid more than $60 a night at Pop Century, our favorite hotel. I never got one when I lived in Virginia, but since moving to the Tampa Bay area, they flow freely, thank goodness. My hubby jokes that they just mail it out while laughing about how they know we’ll be calling soon to spend more money. Whatever the reason, I am thankful.
Possible hints???
I do log in and play around with dates on the website.
We do several 3-4 day weekends a year.
I make sure that they have all of our birthdays and anniversarys logged into the system. That is usually when we go.
I have ordered the personalized maps.
If I think of more, I will fill everyone in.
What is a “personalized map”?
One of my friends has gotten more than one PIN codes. She thinks it is because she goes online and plays around on their website with dates, resorts, etc.
I’m hoping for a PIN code one day! No luck so far, but who knows? Maybe one day I’ll get a good one. :)
