It was just announced today that Disneyland is going to introduce Disney MaxPass later this year. MaxPass is a combination of PhotoPass downloads and mobile booking and redemption of Disney FASTPASS return times via the Disneyland App. This will be available for $10 a day plus Annual Passholders will have the option of purchasing it on either a daily or a yearly basis.
FASTPASS will continue to be free by obtaining them at FASTPASS kiosks (Disneyland is still on a paper system).
They are also introducing FASTPASS at Toy Story Mania and the Matterhorn.
I am not really sure what all this means. There are a lot of questions on the Disney Parks Blog that are not answered yet.
With the test of the Express Bus going on at Walt Disney World, I can’t help but wonder if their is a paid version of Fastpass being considered for the parks. Universal already has something like that.
