Disneyland’s Adventureland was envisioned from the Walt Disney TV series of nature documentaries about Asia and Africa. He wanted live animals, but imagineers told him they’d probably lie around or hide all day, so they built animatronic animals instead. It’s feature attraction at opening was the Jungle River cruise. Other attractions were added like the Swiss Family Treehouse, which is now Tarzan’s Treehouse. And they also added the Enchanted Tiki room and finally Indiana Jones Adventure ride, which revamped the land to a 1930’s feel.

One thing that was forgotten was that The Tahitian Terrace was the original dinner show in the location that she states for Aladdin’s Oasis. For the normal person they walk right by this every single day. The stuff is all still there. And also the Dole Whip stand at the enterance to the Tiki Room.
There is one thing missing. The Tahitian Terrace was the original item where she noted Aladdins Oasis. It was an amazing dinner show and a lot of fun. However it didn’t top the chocolate lamps at Aladdins with Raspberry sauce and chocolate mousse inside. They are opening a similar style restaurant at the Disneyland hotel this summer which I have talked about several times on my blog and will be visiting in about a week.
The Indiana Jones ride is hands-down my favorite Disney ride. And while the Dinosaur ride in AK is built similarly, Indy trumps it :)
