Hello, Couponing to Disney readers! I’m Carrie, travel agent with Destinations in Florida. I get the privilege of visiting you here each week to look at some frequently asked questions about Walt Disney World, Disneyland, and all the Disney destinations! With so many resorts to choose from on Disney property, it can be hard to decide! And, it’s nice to have the pros and cons of each, right? This far, I’ve shared frequently asked questions about Disney’s Beach Club and Yacht Club Resorts. This week, I’m finishing up the EPCOT area resorts with Disney’s Boardwalk Inn.
What is the theme of Disney’s Boardwalk Inn? Disney’s Boardwalk Inn is themed after the nostalgic eastern seaboard of the 1920s and 1930s. Of the three resorts in the area, it appears more “fun loving”. It has carousel themed rugs and and models of roller coasters and carousels. Disney’s Boardwalk Inn is definitely fun loving and family friendly!
How is the location of the Boardwalk Inn different from the Beach and Yacht Club? The Boardwalk Inn is actually ON the Boardwalk area. The shops, restaurants, and night entertainment are literally outside your resort. This makes it very fun for couples especially who want to enjoy a night out for drinks or a nice dinner and some entertainment. Also, it is very family friendly with the street performers and fun shops to enjoy. However, from the Boardwalk Inn, you can still walk to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and EPCOT parks. You can also take a Friendship Boat to either park from the Boardwalk Inn~but 99% of the time, walking is faster.
Does the Boardwalk Inn have table service dining? Yes, it does. The Flying Fish Cafe and the Big River Grille and Brewing Works are your sit down dining options. Flying Fish takes reservations, but the Big River Grille and Brewing Works does not. You are seated on a first come, first serve basis there. And they both accept the Disney Dining Plan. However, both locations do take the Disney Dining Plan.
Can I take a fireworks cruise from the Boardwalk Inn? Yes, you can! Your family will love cruising out to view Illuminations on a private boat cruise. You actually rent the boat from the Beach or Yacht Club, which are an easy walk from the Boardwalk Inn.
What resort category is the Boardwalk Inn? The Boardwalk Inn is in the Deluxe Category. It also has some villa room options onsite for larger families, or if you want more “living space” while on your Disney trip. A Deluxe Resort is closer to the parks~like in this case within walking distance to two of the four Disney parks! Also, the rooms all have queen beds, and there are more table service dining and recreation activities at the Deluxe Resorts than at the other categories.
