Disney World is a happy place for many and guest safety is top priority. While rules are not always fun, they are necessary. Do not bring these 16 items into Disney World Parks. This list includes the new Stroller guidelines that went into effect May 1, 2019 and more.
1. Large Strollers or Wagons
Effective May 1, 2019 the new standard sizes for strollers allowed into Disney parks can be no larger than 31″ wide by 52″ long. Many single and double jogging strollers will fit into guidelines. Stroller Wagons and Wagons are not permitted.
2. Loose Ice & Dry Ice
Loose Ice & Dry Ice are banned from Disney parks, as a newer rule. Guests are still welcomed to bring in coolers with ice packs, or bagged ice. The reason behind this is to make the bag check process quicker and easier.
3. Select Camera Gear
Tripod stands or monopod stands that cannot fit inside a standard backpack are not allowed. Also banned are selfie sticks, for safety reasons.
4. Flags Or Banners
Banned from Disney parks are flags and banners of any kind.
5. Wrapped Gifts
Wrapped gifts are not allowed in Disney parks, as all items need to be able to be inspected prior to entering. This includes engagement rings. I have read horror stories where guests didn’t know this policy, thus the secret proposal was ruined at bag check.
6. Personal Promotion Items (Free Or Paid)
Guests are not allowed to sell goods or services, or advertise in the parks. Additionally, guests can not hand out printed or recorded material. Taking photos & videos for commercial purposes inside the parks is also prohibited.
7. Select Clothing
Do not wear a costume if you are 14 years or older (exception to rule is at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party where everyone can dress up). Clothing that drags on the ground is also not allowed for safety reasons. Additionally, offensive clothing can caused denied entry by Disney at their discretion. The only shoes that are prohibited are shoes with built-in-wheels.
8. Select Toys
Drones and remote control toys are prohibited from Disney parks. Inline skates and skateboards are not allowed for safety reasons. Furthermore, any toys resembling guns including toy guns and squirt guns are banned.
9. Noisy Items
Disney does not allowed artificial noise makers in parks. Banned items are: horns, megaphones and whistles.
10. Folding Chairs
Folding chairs are prohibited in Disney. This prevents from a long line of folding chairs as space savers for parades.
11. Cigarettes & Vapes (Ban From Use)
While guests can carry these items on person, they are no longer permitted for use in Disney parks effective May 1, 2019. All smoking areas were removed from: Disney World & Disneyland theme parks, water parks, ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex & Downtown Disney (in California).
12. Select Wheeled Mobility Devices
Wheeled Mobility Devices that contain less than 3 wheels or that can not stand alone are prohibited. Additionally, they can not be operated faster than walking pace.
13. Select Food & Storage
Do not bring food into the parks to feed animals, including birds, ducks and more. Also not allowed are glass containers (perfume bottles and baby food jars are exceptions). Coolers (backpacks & suitcases) are allowed in Disney parks, however they can not be larger than 24″ x 15″ x 18″. Bringing in your own alcohol is strictly prohibited.
14. Pets
Pets are not allowed into Disney parks. The exception are service animals only. Service Animals have their own rules, such as being on leash at all times.
15. Weapons
Weapons of any kind are strictly prohibited. Also banned are personal defense items such as pepper spray.
16. Animal Kingdom & Animal Kingdom Lodge Exclusive
For Animal Kingdom and Animal Kingdom Lodge and the safety of the Animals there are additional banned items. These include plastic straws and balloons, are both not allowed into Animal Kingdom or at Animal Kingdom Lodge.
