Tips are an often overlooked expense while at Disney World. While not many positions accept tips, it is a good idea to carry some cash on you during your vacation for such needs. Tips needed will depend on which services you use at Disney World. Today we are discussing the question, do you tip your Magical Express Driver?
To start, lets explain what Magical Express is. Magical Express is a complimentary motorcoach transportation to & from Orlando International Airport and your Disney World Resort. Guests can also choose to utilize the complimentary luggage delivery, by attaching the yellow tag, and your luggage will magically appear in your Resort Room. In this case, most guests skip tipping since their luggage is not being handled by the Magical Express driver.
Guests can make reservations for Disney’s Magical Express when they are booking their stay at a Disney World Resort, or let your travel agent know. Flight information is needed to make a reservation. This service comes at no cost to guests staying at a Disney World Resort.
Now onto tipping, when you bring your luggage with you or your carry-on, the bus driver will load and unload it for you in the storage under the bus. There are mixed reviews on to tip or not to tip. However, I always tip when a driver is handling my luggage, $1-$2 per luggage is a customary rate. Furthermore, tipping is an appreciation for exceptional service.
I have always had great Magical Express drivers, and they are often funny too! I tipped both drivers on my most recent trip, to and from. I was actually really surprised at how few people did tip, only myself and one other family each way. Both times, the drivers seemed very grateful and appreciative of my tip. Since they only handled one luggage, I gave $2 each time. For me, it is a way to not only say thank you for handling my luggage but for getting me to my destination safely! The latter is priceless.
Thanks, Sara!

I always tip them too. Disney doesn’t pay that great and the cost of living is expensive there
