Packing for Disney World vacation is an exciting time. However, it can be daunting not wanting to forget anything important. This list will have you well on your way for the must pack items Disney. Don’t leave home without these 20 items for Disney World.
- Poncho – Pack a poncho (from a dollar store), they pack easily and can be tossed after use. If it starts raining, pull them out and keep exploring the parks while many guests leave. I recommend buying more than 1 per person if tossing.
- Sun Protectants – Florida is nicknamed the Sunshine State for a reason. Be sure to not leave home without sunscreen, sun hat and sunglasses for your Disney World vacation.
- Filtered Water Bottle – Some past guests say the water tastes different in Florida, therefore bring a reusable bottle, such as a filtered Brita and refill at water fountains for free. Or, ask a quick service location for a cup of ice water to-go.
- Comfortable Pair Of Shoes – Disney World equals miles and miles of walking (with an average of 10 miles per day). An alternate pair + flip flops/sandals for the pool are also advised.
- Autograph Book – Pack an autograph book, or get creative and have Characters sign a hat, frame and more.
- Money & IDĀ – Even if you plan on using debit/credit it is a great idea to have cash on hand just in case and for tipping. If you are using a different wallet/purse than normal, do not forget to pack your ID.
- Park Bag – A park bag is used to hold all your items needed for a day at the parks. Consider a cross-body bag or backpack to carry your items, while still having your hands free.
- Ziploc Bags – Ziploc bags are handy at Disney. In fact, guests at Splash Mountain can now receive a complimentary decorated Ziploc Bag prior to boarding the attraction (daily, while supplies last). These are given out to keep your phone and other small items dry. They also come in handy for left over snacks and more.
- Hand Sanitizer – Anywhere there are many people, there are germs and Disney World is not immune. Al tough they do a great job of keeping it clean, the reality is attractions are not refreshed after every sitting. Pack your own hand sanitizer or wipes to combat germs and stay healthy on vacation, when hand-washing each time and can time-consuming.
- Battery ChargerĀ – Between the My Disney Experience App, taking pictures and videos, your phone battery will suffer. Pack a battery charger or purchase a Fuelrod (purchase from website prior to Disney to save).
- Luggage Tag or Identifier – For those flying with plain colored luggage, add a luggage tag or identifier to easily spot your luggage.
- First Aid Kit – Even at a magical place, scrapes and bruises can happen. Pack Band-Aids, ointment and Over the Counter medicine, just in case.
- Disney Apparel – Buy your own Disney apparel prior to your vacation, many retailers today sell great quality Disney apparel for much less than the parks. Learn where to buy Disney T-shirts and Princess Dresses prior to your vacation.
- MagicBands – MagicBands are your key to the parks (and your Resort room). You do not want to forget these! Learn what you need to know about MagicBands.
- Stroller – Pack your own stroller for your little ones and save big on daily Disney Stroller rental prices over the stay of your Disney trip.
- Bathing Suit – Most of the year is ideal for swimming at Disney World, plus resort pools are heated. Do not forget to pack your bathing suit or you risk buying a pricey Disney one in the gift shop.
- Disney Pins – Guests can purchase starter packs in the parks, or Disney Pin lots on eBay prior to your trip. Look for a reputable seller (high ratings and # of sales). Unless you are trading with a serious pin collector (who will not trade eBay pins) or purchase from Disney yourself, you run the risk of getting a (high quality) fake from the pin boards. With all this said, Pin Trading is one of my favorites so pack your pins.
- Toiletries – Small items needed include: your toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, feminine products, razors, hair brush and nail clippers. If you do forget, all these items are sold in your Resort’s gift shop.
- Sweatshirt – A light sweatshirt or sweater may be wanted for evenings at Disney, depending on time of year you are visiting. Learn weather by month at a glance.
- Tinkerbell Gifts – Curb spending on souvenirs with children by packing Tinkerbell Gifts. Items such as glow sticks are great to have on hand and pull out for extra magic.
