Check out this easy way to hang stockings! As your family grows throughout the years, you will more than likely add stockings at Christmas time. However, you might find it hard after a while to find stocking holders that match the ones you already have. So I came up with this solution. Get a very thin curtain rod that matches your stocking holders so it doesn’t look out of place, and stretch it across your mantel (or wherever you hang your stockings) between your current stocking holders. Then you can slide your stockings on there and add as many as you want!

This is a great idea! I’m just curious can you still fill the stocking to the brim and the rod will still hold the stockings without falling?
NO!! It looks really in cute in the picture, but this method is NOT weight bearing. The weight limit depends on how heavy the stocking holders are — the heavier they are (and the further back on the mantle) the more you can place in the stockings. Mine are metal and weigh a couple pounds apiece but I can only place one or two small, lightweight items in each stocking before it falls.
I have 3 stocking holders so I have one on each end and one in the middle. I’ve never had a problem filling the stockings up and the curtain road not being able to hold the weight. Just make sure that you have one in the middle.
