If you are thirsty, just stop by any snack window or counter service restaurant and ask for a cup of ice water. It’s free! You might want to bring flavor sticks to make it taste better.
Free Ice Water

Save for Disney vacations by utilizing budgeting, coupons, sales and more
Cute cup! We took water bottles when we went to Disneyland. It saved us so much money.
My hubby has a camelpak which is like a backpack but it has a bladder in it and holds about 2 liters of water…there is a hose that comes out like a big straw. It is great for Disney trips!
This first time we went was in July 2009 and the “local” water was awful to us!! We have well water and not use to chemicals in it……this year before we went I discovered the Brita water bottles with the filter built in…..they were small enough to carry and not be a burden and it was also a good enough filter to get out all the “chemical” taste in the water…..just tasted like plain ol’ water…..we used the water fountains but it would work the same with the free cups of water……
That’s a great tip! I didn’t know that. The bromine in the water in Florida kills us too, we usually add lemon to water down there when we absolutely have to drink it. Generally we buy a few gallons of bottled water when we arrive. Nothing like the decent water in the North East :)
When we go, we always take water bottles, a Brita pitcher and a small cooler bag. We filter the water in the room and fill a few bottles to take with us during the day. If it’s hot, we’ll fill some bottles halfway (or more) and freeze them overnight, then top them off in the morning before we head out. Much better than the unfiltered stuff! We travel with a double stroller and can toss a ton of stuff underneath, so this might not be as feasible for those who are carrying all of their stuff all day long. (We actually take the Brita anytime we go on vacation … I refuse to pay for bottled water and I can’t stand tap water at most places.)
I am totally going to do this when we go to Disneyland next summer! That will save us a ton of money that we can spend on other things like Mickey ice cream!
We usually have to avoid water when we travel, it really affects my kids stomachs :( Our water is so different, they get the runs if we drink water in other places. I usually order bottled water through Costco Business delivery and have it meet us at the resort.
Thanks for that tip!! I usually take water bottles and flavored packets with us. We are going to Disney on Thursday!! Im so ready!
We live by cedarpoint and as teenagers a group of us would go every sunday after church and we LOVED the fact that they gave us free water! LOL It was nice on really hot days!!!!
GREAT to know for our JUNE Trip with High School BAND!! Thanks
We did that when we were down there! What we did was take some insulated glasses and the flavor packets like you said. We would each get a glass of water and it would fill our glass to the top! Not only did it save us money by not buying the $2.50 cokes, we also saved money by purchasing drinks before hand at the store and carrying all of that weight around! Plus it is so much better for you and is great for hydration!!
Excellent to know!!
THE LUNCHING PAD!!!! They have sweet dough cream cheese stuffed pretzels!! My husband and I make that a “must eat” while we are there!!!
That is an awesome tip! Thank you for sharing!
