It has been an exciting day of announcements, from the opening date of Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser and MagicBand+ Debuting 2022 At Walt Disney World.
Now we have another exciting confirmation, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind will open in 2022!
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind will debut next year in the Wonders of Xandar pavilion, a first “other-world” showcase pavilion. Guests are invited to experience an intergalactic chase. The foundation pour for this attraction was the largest in Disney World History, needing 960 trucks of concrete to complete. When completed, this attraction will be among the world’s longest enclosed roller coasters and the building is so large that 4 Spaceship Earths would fit inside! The ride vehicle cars will be able to rotate, and guests being immersed in an original story the entire time while riding this storytelling coaster.
Above, see Imagineers Tom Fitzgerald (left) and Scot Drake (right) inside the Wonders of Xandar pavilion, in the Galaxarium. This will be home to a planetarium-type presentation where the Xandarians show us their world, their people and their advanced technologies.
