We are in Louisville,KY and milk is usually $2.79 a gallon and we don’t pay taxes on groceries.

In Phoenix we can get half gallons on sale for 88-99 cents, Gallons on sale are typically $1.67-1.98. If not on sale it’s normally about 2.39 a gallon.
I try to buy milk only when on sale. Best sales tend to be at Albertsons or Safeway with about $1.79 a gallon.
I live in Phoenix. I bought three 1/2 gallons today because they were on sale for $.88 each.

We pay $1.99 a gallon at Wegmans which is not a sale price. If I am near aldi’s I can pick it up for about $1.69. I live in NY state and there is no sales tax on food —yet!
I think it is just wrong to tax food or medicine.

I’m in Eagle River, AK. Wal Mart milk is $3.39 – no tax.
I am shocked that some prices are more expensive than ours. We don’t even have any dairies in the state and our goods are shipped a mighty long way.
I live in Palmer AK. We do have a local dairy here but I don’t know if they ship out of the Mat-Su Valley I generally don’t grocery shop in Eagle River or Anchorage. I pay 4.99 for the fresh stuff plus tax. 2 gallons from Carrs was $10.28. And you can taste the difference! Fresh and local way better in my mind. plus it lasts longer in my fridge.
In GA I pay $2.19 at Aldi’s we pay $2.19, but I had a $1.00 coupon on milk this week so I bought it at Kroger for $2.20.
In Northwest Florida.
I’ve found Wal-Mart milk prices to be on the high side. At my local cost + 10% store, I pay $2.88 plus ten percent, no tax.
We pay $1.79/gal at Aldi in the Toledo, Ohio area. No tax on food here.

It depends, here (in E. Oregon). We can buy from a local dairy at Rite Aid and it’s $1.99/half gallon. At other grocery stores it is anywhere from ~$3.00-$5.00 gallon, depending on the brand and whether it’s Organic or not. We get raw milk though and it’s $7.59/gallon (or nearly that per HALF gallon for goats milk), but it’s worth it to us.
There is no sales tax here though.

I live in Puerto Rico and the milk here is regular price at $6.00 a gallon!!!! ouch ouch ouch!!!! It was running a sale price of $5.79 some time ago, so very pricey milk… almost gold!!! And in Walgreens ( The nearest CVS is like an hour from my home) they don’t let me use RR for milk, so no couponing for milk.
Here in south central arkansas, I just paid $4.18 for great Value (Walmart) brand milk and that is the cheapest around here. It is a little cheaper at Sams, but it is an hour away from our home.

Central Indiana – most stores have milk for around $2.50, aldi is $1.70 a gallon. There is no tax on grocery items in Indiana.

I live in Edmond, OK our tax rate on food is 8.25% and a gallon of milk at Braums cost 3.67 so $4 after taxes. We buy 2 gallons per week!
I paid $4.38 for Harp’s (Store Brand) whole milk in Fort Smith, AR. So I paid $4.59 with tax. Craziness.
In CA it is approximately $3.29 a gallon, $2.89 if you buy two at a time (no food taxes here). But I buy Organic at $5.98 to $6.79 a gallon!

I shop at kroger and buy kroger brand. It is almost $3.50 here with 5% tax for a gallon. The lowest it gets is $2.99 on sale which isn’t very often.

Prairie farms milk here in Missouri was 4.13 a gallon on Friday. I buy a non name brand, it’s 3.73. I noticed one of our stores had skinless chicken breast for 4.49 a ib. The package was 18.50. Yikes!

I live in southern California and I can get milk at Von’s for $2.85. Usually it’s $3.00 every where else. We do not have sales tax on food.
In Northern California, I just paid $3.39 per gallon at CVS. No tax.
In MN it is 2 for 6.50. That is the cheapest I can find. SO 3.25 a gallon.
In the dairy state (WI) it’s 3.49….no taxes.
Here in NC, I always buy Maola milk at Walgreen’s because their everyday price of $3.49 is much cheaper than anywhere else! And they have it on sale for $2.99 in their weekly ad fairly often.
In South Florida it is $3.79 at Publix, not taxed. I keep an eye out for deals at CVS too, but when there is one, it goes fast!
Holy cow I need to move! Milk here in Chattanooga, TN was $4.79 a gallon when I bought it on Thursday, a dollar less if you buy the store brand, $2 more if you buy organic. Sometimes its a little higher. We do pay 9.25% sales tax on grocery items so many times is right at $6 a gallon out the door!!!++

We are in Kalamazoo Michigan, and you can get it for about $2.50 at Meijer. At Aldi, like Carolyn from Ann Arbor said, is cheaper. Glad to see that we have a few things cheaper in the north, since we seem to pay so much for our gas!!

Holy Cow! We typically shop at Wegmans here in south central NY state, and have been paying $1.98/gal, but I noticed the price just went up to $2.19. Most stores around here have prices under $2.30.
We are very fortunate here in Sheboygan, Wisconsin since we have 2 piggly wigglys , 2 pick n saves and festival foods which all compete with each other. Once or Twice a month we get it for $.99 and there is even a $.55 pdf for Deans milk which is often the one at that price. Typically $1.99.

I only buy organic milk for family, and it 5.99 a gallon almost everywhere. So I have been feeling this pain for awhile, it really takes a toll on the food budget. :(

I live in CT and I also only buy organic and we pay $5.99 a gallon at Wholefoods which is cheaper than at BJ’s for organic they charge $6.29 I try to limit it to one gallon a week.
I only buy organic now as well and it seems the standard price is $5.99 a gallon. But, my stores will mark milk down to $1.99 a gallon if it has two days left until the expiration. It usually lasts up to two weeks after the expiration with no signs of souring. I shop at Brookshire’s/Super 1 Foods in Tyler, TX. No sales tax.
I`m in the Florida Keys. Milk at Publix and Winn Dixie is 3.65 a gallon. I usually buy milk and cvs and walgreens and use my store saving to get `free` milk. Just got a gallon today!
Krogers In the Dayton ohio area is usually $2.79 a gallon but last week 1/2 gallons was $1.00 no tax on food…
A few months ago you could get half gallons for 2 for $5(Walmart brand) & A gallon was something like $3.50ish….but as of a week ago, the half gallons were now $2.72 each & Gallon cost me almost $3.98!
So now any time I find a soy milk coupon I clip it & try to switch to that as my major drinking milk.

On Sat 11-3 in Benton, Ar., just south of Little Rock I paid 3.15 a galllus 3% tax.

Las Vegas, NV the lowest I saw milk was at $2.48 and we don’t get taxed on food here in NV. but if your not careful, the highest I’ve seen it is $3.19. eww.
Fort Wayne, IN it is $3.19/gallon, but almost weekly can get for $2.50/gallon w/ an ad match and we do not pay tax on food….yet!
Cheapest in Omaha, NE that I have found is at Sam’s Club for 2.87. They just raised it from 2.43. No tax on food here. Oh, and we buy 10 gallons a week or so! (1 for me, 1 for my daughter and the rest for my husband, yes, about 1 gallon a day!).
