I live in Palmer AK. We do have a local dairy here but I don’t know if they ship out of the Mat-Su Valley I generally don’t grocery shop in Eagle River or Anchorage. I pay 4.99 for the fresh stuff plus tax. 2 gallons from Carrs was $10.28. And you can taste the difference! Fresh and local way better in my mind. plus it lasts longer in my fridge.

At other grocery stores it is anywhere from ~$3.00-$5.00 gallon, depending on the brand and whether it’s Organic or not. We get raw milk though and it’s $7.59/gallon (or nearly that per HALF gallon for goats milk), but it’s worth it to us.

Here in south central arkansas, I just paid $4.18 for great Value (Walmart) brand milk and that is the cheapest around here. It is a little cheaper at Sams, but it is an hour away from our home.

Prairie farms milk here in Missouri was 4.13 a gallon on Friday. I buy a non name brand, it’s 3.73. I noticed one of our stores had skinless chicken breast for 4.49 a ib. The package was 18.50. Yikes!

Sometimes its a little higher. We do pay 9.25% sales tax on grocery items so many times is right at $6 a gallon out the door!!!++

I only buy organic milk for family, and it 5.99 a gallon almost everywhere. So I have been feeling this pain for awhile, it really takes a toll on the food budget. :(

It usually lasts up to two weeks after the expiration with no signs of souring. I shop at Brookshire’s/Super 1 Foods in Tyler, TX. No sales tax.

A few months ago you could get half gallons for 2 for $5(Walmart brand) & A gallon was something like $3.50ish….but as of a week ago, the half gallons were now $2.72 each & Gallon cost me almost $3.98!
So now any time I find a soy milk coupon I clip it & try to switch to that as my major drinking milk.

Cheapest in Omaha, NE that I have found is at Sam’s Club for 2.87. They just raised it from 2.43. No tax on food here. Oh, and we buy 10 gallons a week or so! (1 for me, 1 for my daughter and the rest for my husband, yes, about 1 gallon a day!).

I’ve found Wal-Mart milk prices to be on the high side. At my local cost + 10% store, I pay $2.88 plus ten percent, no tax.

I live in Edmond, OK our tax rate on food is 8.25% and a gallon of milk at Braums cost 3.67 so $4 after taxes. We buy 2 gallons per week!
I paid $4.38 for Harp’s (Store Brand) whole milk in Fort Smith, AR. So I paid $4.59 with tax. Craziness.

I just moved to Guam for Southern California and only buy organic so I’m spending upwards of $10 a gallon on milk, but no tax on anything here.
I only buy milk at my local Walgreens. Without a sale, I can get Land O’Lakes milk for $2.99 a gallon. When it is on sale, it is usually $2.49.

Krogers In the Dayton ohio area is usually $2.79 a gallon but last week 1/2 gallons was $1.00 no tax on food…

North Florida is $3.49 just about everywhere. I don’t think it is taxed but I never really paid attention (I’m never buying “just milk”)
On Sat 11-3 in Benton, Ar., just south of Little Rock I paid 3.15 a galllus 3% tax.
In Ga it just went up to $3.49 a gallon at 3% tax.

I pay 99 cents currently from Aldi. I live in Indiana and we don’t have food tax. At least not where I’m at.
