A new appliance is a big-ticket item. Such as needing a new washer and dryer, refrigerator, microwave or stove. Here are my 7 best tips to save!
1. MyGiftCardsPlus
Buy a gift card from MyGiftCardsPlus before shopping, a Swagbucks sistersite. If you plan on spending the money, anyway, check for a gift card with cash back first! As a bonus, this will count towards your daily sb goal.
Current Deals:
- Earn 2% back from Lowe’s (ex. 200sb for a $100 gc)
- Earn 2% back from Home Depot (ex. 200sb for a $100 gc)
- Earn 1% back from Best Buy (ex. 100sb for a $100 gc)
- Making a large purchase? Currently, get 1,000sb ($10) for a $500 Lowe’s or Home Depot gc purchase!
2. Earn Cash Back from Swagbucks
Also check Swagbucks for current cash back offers, earn just by clicking through sb first.
Current Deals:
- 1% back from Sears
- 1% back from Walmart
- 1% back from eBay
- 4% back from Best Buy
- Up to 8% back from Home Depot
- Up to 8% back from Lowe’s
- and more
3. Check local shops for dent/return section
Stores such a Best Buy will have an open box/return section. It is worth browsing your stores for these sections for big savings. Many times, the displays will end up in this discounted section as well.
4. Check ibotta for Gift Cards
As an alternative to MyGiftCardsPlus, check ibotta to earn by purchasing a gc. They also offer cash back for online shopping if you prefer to use this platform.
Current Deal Examples:
- Home Depot is at 2% back, $10 gc min.
- Lowe’s is at 2% back, $10 gc. min.
5. Check Marketplace
If you know what to look for to make sure it is a sound deal, then buying second hand can save. Browse FB Marketplace (or craigslist, local fb YardSale page etc.) to shop a local deal.
6. Buy at the right Time
Certain times a year common items are at their seasonal low price. For appliances, the best time to shop is in the Fall months. Look for deals in September, October and November. Sometimes, timing is everything.
7. Rebates
Check your preferred manufacturer websites to see if there is a current rebate. Another place to look is the store’s website, such as Lowe’s. Finally, if you are purchasing an energy efficient appliance, it is worth checking your electric company’s website for a rebate. That is 3 places to hunt for a rebate, happy savings!
