The Imagination Pavilion in the Future World area of Epcot is home to some of the most classic attractions in Epcot including Journey into Imagination…With Figament.
– Has a Fastpass option but is not often needed.
– 18 minutes long.
– Might scare younger children.
– If you have a fear of snakes or spiders, you should skip this one!
Journey into Imagination… With Figament
– 6 minutes long.
– Loud noises and pitch black darkness. Might startle little kids.
– At the gift shop, you can get a photo made and they will superimpose the Disney characters into it.
Don’t miss the amazing fountain as you leave the Pavilion.
– This ride does have a Fastpass. Be sure to use it if the line is longer than 20 minutes.
– This ride has a single rider line. It might be faster than using the regular line, but your party won’t get to ride together.
– The ride is 4.5 minutes.
– Minimum height is 40 inches.
– Be sure to check out the area as you leave Test Track. There are a lot of interactive things to do including cyber postcards for the family!
– Does anyone have any advice for this one?
– Green Team is a less intense ride and doesn’t spin.
– Do not ride if you have issues with small spaces or motion sickness
– Might not be suitable for younger children (I have not taken my kids on it yet)
– Awesome play area for the kids (like a McDonald’s Play Place) at the exit to the ride. To get to it, walk thru the exit’s gift shop and enter thru the doors on your right.
– A good place to cool down on a hot day.
– If you have a video camera, have it ready to record what’s on the screen after you make your personal selections about your life in the future. You’ll end up with a cute video!
– You can send virtual postcards to people back home in the gift shop after the ride.

On Test Track my daughter and I went through the single riders line. We were originally not going to be together, but I kinda put that down to their rules. We ended up being together because the car they were putting her in had seats and a family in front of us offered to let me be with her. I was under the impression that the single rider line was used to fill up any empty seats but that was so not the case.
Oh lord where do I start about Mission Space. DO NOT GO ON IF YOU HAVE MOTION SICKNESS. I have never been sick from a ride so my 5 yr old and i were excited to go on. I should have known something was up when every seat had a motion sickness bag next to it. Well needless to say i started to throw up all over myself. I was able to get most of it in bag, but i was covered. The ride stopped and they ushered me to a private clean up room. They gave me a complete change of clothes. I was able to sit on the bench, but they thought i didn’t look good so they called the medic’s. Had to lie in the first aid tent for 1 hr. Disney called and paid for a taxi to take us back to the hotel. Was sick ALL DAY.
Wow, that was SUPER nice of Disney to take care of you like that!!
I definitely agree that if you have even a little motion sickness, opt for the less intense version. I’ve never ridden the less intense one, but I’m assuming it would be ok for anyone to ride. I personally LOVE Mission Space and never even got a little sick. After a few times riding it, I decided that I would break the rules and look to the side….very weird feeling.
When you get off of Spaceship Earth, you can send a postcard “from the future.” Which is a picture from your cool video at the end, I always love sending myself the postcard because its kind of a cool memory from the day. There are a lot of interactive things after the ride, however, I still have not done many of them!
Mission Space: I love roller coasters and such, but was not a big fan of this ride. The last time I was there, I did the less intense version, and it was a little better for me. There are also a lot of cool things outside of this ride, including sending a video from space. Can be very funny.
Also, I don’t think the Wonders of Life Pavilion is open anymore… I think it is just used for special events now.
Hi karen, were you refrering to Mission Space?
My girls LOVED Spaceship Earth! Tip – if you have a video camera, have it ready to record what’s on the screen after you make your personal selections about your life in the future. You’ll end up with a cute video!
Mission Space: My 6 yr old loved it and so did my husband. My sister and I on the other hand did not. I felt like I was having a panic attack and I don’t like being in small places with 4 people. I could not wait to get off.
I agree about honey I shrunk the audience. You do not need to waste a fast pass on that, you will most likely not have to wait outside at all and inside not more than the 18 minutes of the show. It is really great. Don’t miss any of the 3-d shows at any park, they are all fantastic!!! One warning though, if you have a rat phobia….
I know with Spaceship Earth, that the last time we were there (which was more than 10 years ago), the line was VERY short after the last show of the evening. When everyone is leaving the park there is hardly no line and I literally waited 30 seconds to get on the ride. So definitely hit this one last of the day because like everyone else said, its the FIRST thing people ride since its the FIRST ride when you walk in!
I like Mission Space and don’t really get why people get sick on it, but they do. We smelled it as we were leaving the more intense version.
For the little ones though, they have a great play area at the Mission Space exit for them. A soft play area for toddlers and also video games for older kids who might not want to go on the ride, but needs to wait on the people who do go on the ride.
My son loves Spaceship Earth, best part to me is when you turn around in the vehicle and see the stars. Also the interactive part. Be aware that sometimes the interactive part can mess up on you, it did with us and we told the cm at the exit and we were able to exit the vehicle and get right might in a different one and start the ride again. Also make sure that you watch your little ones fingers during the interactive part, because they could touch another language on the screen besides the one you want, and you will be lost. Then there is tons to do when you get off the ride. So much that I still don’t think we have done it all.
I echo everything already said about mission space, I have a slight fear of small spaces and this was too much for me. It also made me very sick the rest of the day. My head was spinning for a good 30 mins after the ride was done. Just not worth it to me. I don’t want to be sick all day for a few mins of thrill. Not for kids.
I LOVE Mission Space, that being said the spinning version is for Thrill seekers only. My husband has to get on the non-spinning part of the ride, he doesn’t do well with spinning even though he loves roller coasters. lol I will say that the non spinning side is actually pretty fun. I would recommend it to those who love thrills but I would NEVER allow a young child to ride this.
Mission Space is not all bad. Just be aware of your personal limitations. I loved riding it but then again, I also love roller coasters and g force simulators. My husband also enjoyed it. Don’t look to the side, DON’T CLOSE YOUR EYES, and don’t move your head during the ride. Also don’t feel bad about riding the non-spinning one or skipping it altogether if you don’t like the sound of it. I did always ride it before lunch though! :)
I rode Mission:Space with my husband. I was 30 years old and I cried the WHOLE ride and also suffered a panic attack. I’ve never had a problem on rides but this one is terrible for dark, tight spaces. I am sevierly claustrophobic now and I blame this ride for it. My tip is: don’t ride it.
MISSION SPACE: We did the non spinning version. My 7 year old twins loved it., I hated it. Do not ride if you have issues with small spaces. It is very confining!!
We rode Mission Space when it was first being tested. All I have to say is that if you think the version they have now makes you sick, you should have rode on the original ride. It still is pretty intense and if you really want to ride it make sure you stay looking straight at the screen. Looking to the side or out of the corners of your eyes will make it worse. Do not eat or drink before the ride or plan on eating or drinking immediately after the ride. I personally don’t recommend young children ride on this ride.
Spaceship Earth is one of my favs at Epcot! Definitely do not ride it first thing in the morning. Go to the other rides first. However! Because the ride has continuous cars the line moves FAST! I’m not sure the length but it is a perfect ride for a cool down. Word of warning-there are speakers in the headrest that can get very loud at times. Also, there is a very steep incline at one point going upward at a very slow pace, if you have small squirmy children I would suggest keeping an arm on them so they don’t try climbing out because there are no lap belts.
mission space made me sick all day. i will never get near it again!!
Michelle- I totally agree! I LOVED Figment when I was little and was looking forward to sharing it with my girls. It was a fun ride, but nothing like I remembered. The Kodak thing at the end was fun, too.
My 4 year old daughter loved Spaceship earth too! I thought it would be boring but she is still talking about it.
She also rode Test Track with us, and she would have been fine if it weren’t for the noise. We had earplugs but forgot about them. Big mistake.
Mission space — green team less intense!!!!
Spaceship earth — my 4 year old’s favorite ride at Epcot. She loves to make the future scenario, and, I have to admit, it is a lot of fun. Try to avoid this ride first thing in the morning. Lots of people stop here first, since you have to walk right by it to get to anything else. Save it for later when the lines won’t be as long. You’ll be happy, too, to have a place to cool off if you’re touring in warmer weather.
On Spaceship Earth make sure to double check the pass you get. There are two versions of the ride, one less intense than the other! Make sure you have the pass for the version you want to ride.
The ride that has two versions is Mission Space not Spaceship Earth. I have done both intensities on this ride and I prefer the less intense. You will experience less of a “G” force.
Ride SpaceShip Earth as you are leaving Epcot. The lines will be shorter.
I really wish they had left the imagination ride alone. It was so much better when I was a kid! You might want to warn readers about the loud noises on this ride. We took my son when he was 18 months old and he flipped out at the loud noise in the speaker room of this ride.
