Joy strikes again with her GENIUS idea’s! She shared her savings report with us in the Savears.
We are 40 days out from our trip so I thought I would give a little savings update. I bought a new planner yesterday (Target- Sugar Paper Brand- another post for another day). I changed my savings chart to reflect $25 increments to make it faster for me to calculate what I still need and faster to mark off. I started saving for this trip on August 8, 2016. As of today I have saved $792.50 in Disney gift cards. My trip total amount is $1300.00 (rounded up to make the $25 chart work out.)
My savings have come from:
Rolled change ($50)
iBotta ($25)
Receipt Hog ($25) use code draf1623
Walmart Savings Catcher ($50)
Insurance Refund ($25)
Disney Vacation Club Call ($25)
Birthday gift ($25)
Swagbucks ($25.00)
Ebay sales ($150)
Saved $ from paycheck ($50)
Christmas gifts ($100)
Christmas Bonus ($125)
Disney Movie Rewards ($5)
Sidenote: I used my Swagbucks earnings for the last 3 months for Christmas shopping, this week I will cash out for Disney again.) I’m not disappointed in my savings. I have two more cards on the way now and will cash out Swagbucks this week for one more. I am setting aside money each week now from my paycheck now that Christmas has passed. I am at the point now where we are to things in our budget that we can do without so if I don’t meet the goal it isn’t a big deal. Since we are camping we truly do not “have” to eat out for any meals. We’re bringing everything and the kitchen sink along.
Joy has a dedicated system. I’m stashing Disney cards and restaurant cards away too. I hope to bring my granddaughter to Disney before August.
