Big garden news this week! Multiple veggie plants (including the last surviving Pizza My Heart pepper plant) were planted in the garden! It makes me so happy, and hopefully they will thrive! I will say, getting the new raised beds set up is not cheap. It’s a good thing I’m counting this as part of my entertainment budget because even with the sales I don’t want to see how much I’ve spent in the last two months just on dirt!
In the summer, I try to plan our meals around what the garden is producing. We have lots of tacos or burritos with fresh pico de gallo. Lots of salads, either as the main meal or the side dish helps us use up tomatoes and peppers. My kiddo snacks on cherry tomatoes straight off the vine. Even if you don’t garden, this isn’t a bad way to stretch your budget. Produce is always cheaper when it’s in season, and buying what is seasonal stretches your dollars! You can even freezer peppers (and tomatoes) to cook with later in the year if you don’t can (and if you have that kind of space!) Mmmmm, homegrown tomato soup sounds great this winter!
My big win this week was actually with Field Agent. It doesn’t look like it, Field Agent is pretty low down on my earnings list, but we got to purchase a 36ct pack of string cheese. String Cheese just so happens to be one of my kiddo’s favorite things in the world right now, so we got to try a new brand, stock up on it, and get paid for it as well! Ain’t mad at that! This is the best kind of shop for me, because I’m thrilled to save that grocery money on something we use. Maybe she will fall in love with this brand and I can save more on it in the future!
This week’s earnings also include the $25 Inbox Dollars prize I won last week! Tim also chipped in by giving blood at a blood drive he organized.
