People naturally tend to go to the right so whenever you can, go left! left! left! at Walt Disney World. Here are a few of the things I have observed at Walt Disney World:
Backed up lines – I have seen lines backed up on the right side while the left side will be wide open. One day I even saw the right side of the security guards at the Magic Kingdom with 10+ deep lines and the left side was completely clear! Sometimes when Guests see long lines, they assume the people in front of them know what they are doing. That is not always the case. Disney has since relocated the Magic Kingdom security, but this tip still applies whenever you are approaching any security area.
Larger crowds – When we tour the World Showcase, we always start in Mexico and work our way around. Most people move towards Canada and go that direction. So we find Mexico, China, Germany and Italy to be pretty empty when the World Showcase first opens (Norway is never empty now that Frozen Ever After is open).
Longer waits – If you just go with the crowd mentality and veer right because they are, you’ll find attractions with longer waits. Or you’ll end up in a people traffic jam which is always frustrating especially in the heat. Adventureland is on the left side of the Magic Kingdom and it is a ghost town in the mornings since people are veering to the right (Tomrorowland and Fantasyland).
So whenever you have the option, go left!
