Some of my best memories at Disney World are strolling around aimlessly, and noticing all the details Disney adds. It is these small touches that add to the magic of Disney World and each time I go, I notice new details. Next time you visit Disney World parks, be sure to look up to notice these 5 magical touches.
1. Two Lanterns
Found in Liberty Square of Magic Kingdom is a historical touch to look up for. It is a reference to Paul Revere’s Ride line, “One if by land, and two, if by sea”. One lantern meant British was coming by land and two by water (which was a faster route). This warning of 2 lanterns is scene if you look up in Liberty Square today at Disney World.
2. Rapunzel Themed Bathroom
Arguably the prettiest bathroom at Disney World is found in Fantasyland of Magic Kingdom. This restroom is themed after the Disney Princess, Rapunzel. See her tower and look up to see her lanterns hanging overhead. In the evening these lanterns glow for added ambiance.
3. Prayer Flags
In the Asia section of Disney’s Animal Kingdom guests who look up will notice colored prayer flags throughout. Pictured above, they can be seen overhead at the Discovery River Amphitheater. These flags are common in Nepalese Villages. It is said that the flags carry prayers to be answered when the wind blows, for this reason they are placed up high and should not be left on the ground.
4. Hidden Mickey In Germany
This one is a Hidden Mickey to look up for. While browsing Epcot’s World Showcase and all the details of each pavilion, this one is easy to miss if you do not know to look for it. When you make it to the Germany Pavilion in Epcot, look up to the guard statues. Particularly, the woman statue (with the blue sash) contains a hidden Mickey in the center of her crown.
5. Toys & String Lights
Shrink down to the size of a toy at Toy Story Land in Hollywood Studios. In this land guests will find toys scattered around, left out in Andy’s backyard. This includes stringed lights and toys high above guests. When the sun sets, the large bulbs glow throughout the land above guests.
