I love the sci fi! Even though it’s not a character meal (which we do at least one of every day we’re down there), it’s one of my favorite places to eat. We just love the atmosphere and the kids (ok, me too, lol) really get a kick out of sitting in the cars. :)
Adorable picture! What do you do with all your DW pics? Scrapbook, album, etc. When we were in DL, we uploaded them to a DVD while we were in the park, it’s so cool to sit down and watch it once in a while. The girls loved being able to show their grandparents. It was pretty inexpensive (esp for Disney), we paid 20 for about 600 pictures, and we could have added 200 more, we just didn’t have the other flash cards with us.
We have not eaten there, but we have seen it and discussed eating there. It looks like a lot of fun,.
By the way, I had someone asking me for lots of tips about how to save money with a Disney trip and about traveling with a 5 or 6 year old and a child who is a little over a year old, I pointed them to your website. :)
Can you tell me what kind of movies they show? When we went years ago it was OLD black and white Sci-Fi that would have scared my dtr to pieces. Even though they were silly it would have scared her especially since the screen is big. Do they still show those? Someone mentioned old Mickey Mouse movies but I can’t figure out how that would work and call it Sci-Fi. Anyway, we would love to give it another try but need to know what they show
Thanks~
Ya know I have been to Disney a zillion times and I still have yet to eat there! After looking at this picture I think the next time I head over for a day I will do it.
Contrary to many reviews, we thought the food was really good for lunch and we got the milkshakes to go as our dessert. (we were on dining plan). Perfect and yummy.
I was worried about the same thing (we had a 2 and 5 year old at the time), but the movies are just old cartoons and corny stuff…my kids weren’t frightened at all by anything they showed and we were in there for quite a while!
I got the steak and blue cheese salad thing. It was basically half of a round head of lettuce, cut in half not broken up with steak and blue cheese dressing. I thought it was fantastic, but nobody else liked what they ordered!
Thank you so much for posting all these pictures! I’ve only been to Disney World once, for my honeymoon, and your pics are bringing back wonderful memories:) we loved the Sci-fi diner!
So many opinions about Sci-fi and 50’s prime time cafe. I’ve not eaten at Sci-fi but will eat at Prime Time in February. Glad to hear you like it. I’ll have to try it next time we go.
We just got back from WDW and that was the first place we ate. Cool atmosphere – great burgers, fries, and shakes (ribs weren’t great)! Our car was a little stinky, but I think that was just us.
I need to learn more about the restaurants and how to do the dining plan, we’re getting it free for when we go…the quick service dining plan…and i want to know what restaurants are good that are the quick service. I have The unofficial guide to disney world with kids 2011, there is so much information!
I’ve heard that’s a really neat place to eat! I keep wanting to try it, but with my little one we always go to the Playhouse Disney character dining at Hollywood and Vine. Great picture!!
Eating at Sci-fi is one of our family favorites! Well, thanks to keeping up with you and your clan I am going in March! I was going to hold out to October, but I just can’t stand it!
We ate there in May and was very impressed with the food! My son had the steak and it was WONDERFUL! I had a pasta dish and couldn’t finish it all. The shakes were great there too! Glad you are having such a great time!
I’ve only heard bad food reviews about it. Is it ok? We’re thinking about trying it for atmosphere and a/c and hope it’s not too bad. What do you recommend? We won’t be on the dining plan.
How did you like it? It was difficult to eat there with an 18 month old since high chairs don’t fit in cars. We liked the primetime diner a little better for that purpose.
We ate there the last few trips. Its really good. I was disappointed the got rid of the shrimp and pasta dish with olives. (I ordered the chicken version) it was so good.
Their shakes are pretty good too!
Cool the cars back out front!
What did ya’ll get?

That was our fave place to go as Cast Members when I worked at WDW. :)
We dont eat here any more. Last two times it was horrible, Cold food and wrong orders. Alot of people have luck here we just don’t. Enjoy

We went in December and they showed old corny sci-fi clips – aliens made of tin cans attacking earth and things like that.
My husband’s favorite place to dine at Disney!! Certainly one of my kids favorites too!! Sure is unique!
Our families favorite place, too!

My husband is a big sci-fi fan. It might be worth it to go here.
Cute picture..
Love the Tomato soup! Wish I could of got the recipe for that!
I think it’s a great concept, okay food. We’re eating there in Feb, because it’s a really good place for teenagers :)
Great picture of Emily!
Gotta love dinner and a movie.
We were considering eating there…but wondered if the movies they play might scare a 3-year-old. Any thoughts?
As I recall, its just old time Mickey cartoons.

What a great pic!!
I’ve heard that’s a really neat place to eat! I keep wanting to try it, but with my little one we always go to the Playhouse Disney character dining at Hollywood and Vine. Great picture!!
We have never eaten there. I forget sometimes there are really great resturants at the parks, especially The Studios.
we went there in 09. We couldn’t squeeze it in this last trip. My daughter still talks about it.
Love the atmosphere at Sci Fi! VERY COOL! The food is OK, not extremely exciting for me. We want to go for just dessert on our next trip.

Never been there… is that the place where you eat in the car?
I’ve only heard bad food reviews about it. Is it ok? We’re thinking about trying it for atmosphere and a/c and hope it’s not too bad. What do you recommend? We won’t be on the dining plan.
They need to make a new reel and make it longer so people don’t have to watch it 3x. LOL.
I totally agree with you. My husband and I say that all the time. It’s one of our favorite places to eat in Hollywood Studios.
How did you like it? It was difficult to eat there with an 18 month old since high chairs don’t fit in cars. We liked the primetime diner a little better for that purpose.
Haven’t been there in some time, I miss it.
Did you have a milkshake? Yummy!
How was it? We thought about eating there but we at at the 50’s Prime Time Cafe instead.
I love that place! We had a great and fun meal there our last trip.
