MagicBands at Walt Disney World are worn on the wrist and are used to gain entry to the park (your tickets are stored in the band), to redeem your Fastpass+ experiences, to redeem your dining plan credits, to gain entry to your Disney Resort room and resort amenities and to charge to your credit card on file at your resort.
Bands are provided FREE of charge to those staying at a Disney Resort. 30 days before you arrive, you can customize your bands in your choice of colors using MyDisneyExperience.com (you should see this option on the main page when you log in or under My Account – MagicBands) up to 10 days before your arrival date. They will arrive at your home before your trip or you can choose to have them sent to your Disney Resort. If you don’t customize them, everyone will receive a basic gray color. Each guest’s name will be printed on the inside of the band so you can tell them apart quickly.
If you are staying off site, you can order a solid color MagicBand from shopDisney.com or you can pick one up at a gift shop for $14.99 + tax. When you purchase your band on Disney property, the Cast Member can transfer your information onto the band. If you purchase it ahead of time, visit Guest Services in the park to transfer your information once you arrive.
Bands are available in red, blue, pink, green, yellow, orange, purple or gray. You can also customize them with MagicBandits or MagicSliders available in gift shops and on shopDisney.com. While the bands are waterproof, I suggest you take off any accessories before you swim. We found 2 MagicBandits in the pool on our last trip.
If you lose your MagicBand while you are at Walt Disney World, visit Guest Relations or your Disney Resort hotel Lobby Concierge for replacement. Bands are provided on a case-by-case basis and may be subject to a fee. In addition, limited-edition and specialty MagicBands cannot be replaced.
