This is my most favorite parade of all. I wish we could of seen it. Mickey has gotten so high in prices I have not been able to go in awhile. But would love to go and see this parade while it is there. But I told my family once we save and can go think of all the new things we will be able to see. With all the changes in toon town and fantasy land too! Thanks for sharing this with us!
Did you stay for the fireworks also? The 4 year old who was with us has not stopped talking about how the castle changed colors so many times. Love the parades and the castle!
We saw that parade at 12 AM in July…we missed the earlier showing because there were too many people…Amazingly enough (ha ha) on our way out of the park, the parade came along and we had awesome spots!
I was 5 the first time we went to Disneyland…i will never forget the Electrical Parade and Cinderellas light up dress! I so wanted that job when I grew up!
My daughter called me last night from Downtown Disney & told me how cold it was! She said she wore shorts all day because it was nice but when they came out from eating dinner at Planet Hollywood it was freezing! I told her at least she was there…lucky duck… & not at home in Mass. because we are getting snow tonight!! YUCK!!!
I remember watching it in Disneyland when it was the Main Street Electrical Light Parade. It was spectacular! Then by the time we had kids and took them to Disneyland for the first time it was just the Electrical Light Parade and it was shown in California Adventures. The kids loved it! The kids have only seen it that one time. We do have the tape they sold when they briefly retired the parade a few years back. They kids like to watch it every so often, but we all agree it’s so much better in person. So now that the parade is way over in Disney World, I guess we’ll just have to venture that way one day. I’m wishing and hoping…
So many great memories of this parade as a child. We used to live in Orange County, CA in the 70s. Back then Disneyland was free; you just bought tickets for the rides (hence the expression, “E-Ticket ride”). We would go at night and watch the light parade, water show & fireworks for free about once a month! The first time I brought my kids to see the parade about 5 years ago, I welled up with tears. Such a special moment. :) Thanks for the walk down memory lane.
Glad to know you thought this parade was worth it. I’ve been trying to decide whether to work it into our trip in March. Sounds like we need to try to. I remember this parade from when I went as a child.
So glad you got to see it. I am so happy we were able to see it twice when we were down there. It brought back memories from when I was a child watching it at M.K.
I was so excited to see this parade last month. I remember as a kid watching the Disney show on Sunday nights and this parade being on it. However once I saw it I do prefer Spectromagic. But I was glad to share the memory with my Dd of seeing this on tv when I was her age and wanting to go to Disney.
We have never seen that particular parade, but would love to! We’d do anything to be in the “cooler” weather of Florida right now though…its only 7 degrees with a 25 mile/hour wind today, making if feel like minus 17 degrees!! YIKES…I want to be at WDW!! ;)
This is my favorite parade! We saw it while standing in the freezing cold “Florida” weather in December! P.S. I’m commenting again is hopes of the D & B wristlet- heehee:)
When we were there for Christmas and stayed for the light parade I had tears in my eyes. My children are not old enough to remember this parade and I grew up watching it every year. This is my favorite parade!!!!
LOVE IT!!! I can remember going to watch that parade with my daddy when I was little and sitting on his shoulders so I could see. Such amazing memories!!! Your creating such wonderful memories for your children. Great pics!!
Love it!, So pretty..Thank you! I was showing my kids videos of the parades, and misc Disney stuff last night on you tube, and my kids loved the electrical parade!..I hope we can see it when we go on our trip this september..:)
I love this! This is the best! When they retired it from Disneyland, we bought the videotape. It wasn’t quite the same, but I’d pop it in just for the music sometimes and be transported back to the Happiest Place on Earth! I just really wanted my kids to experience it! And now they can — glad to know it’s around again!
Aw how pretty, i love the one of the castle with them in front of it. One of my hubby and my favorite memories was while we were still dating, and on a date to dinner at ‘San Angel Inn’, we were surprised at how cold the night had gotten! We wanted to stay for Illuminations, but first ran back to Mexico and bought one of their heavy plaid wool feeling blankets. Wrapped it around us and while everyone else’s teeth were chattering, we were just right. That blanket still keeps our family warm!
This is my favorite parade at Disney World. It reminds me so much of being a kid and watching the Wonderful World of Disney on TV. I guess it must be all the lights! I’m glad you got to see it albeit a cold night.:)
I absolutely love the electric parade. Goin in Nov this is one of my favorite things to do.

Is that a frog or a grasshopper? It’s really cute! My guess is that it’s a frog to go along with The Princess and the Frog.
This is my absolute all time favorite Disney parade! I was so excited that we got to see it again in June!
I love seeing this parade. I saw it as a little girl about 25 years ago
Glad to know you thought this parade was worth it. I’ve been trying to decide whether to work it into our trip in March. Sounds like we need to try to. I remember this parade from when I went as a child.

I love Spectro, but was so glad they brought this parade back last year, so we had a chance to see it. Really cool.
I have to admit, I miss SpectroMagic, but the Main Street Electrical Parade is still very fun.

We saw this parade in Dec. and loved it!! I love the music to it also. Glad you guys got to see it, even though it was cold.
that parade is amazing! Did they have the “this is for America” float? that float was truly amazing and it gave me the chills!
Can’t wait to see this!!! I know mommy (me) will be just as excited or more than the kiddos! :)
Wow, that looks amazing! Thanks for the pics

Awww. We love this parade. My daughter goes nuts for the lights. Fun times.
One of the best parades around! Glad you got to see it!
We didn’t get to see this one!
Isn’t it so pretty? I just love it! Do you prefer Spectro or MSEP? I love the MSEP, but I have the music to Spector as a ringtone on my phone.
We loved this!
One of our all time favorites. Totally worth braving the cold! :)
