Mulan, the ill fated live action adaptation, has finally been released! Today you’ll be able to stream Mulan right from your home- but there is a catch, and it’s a big one.
Mulan will be released to Disney+, but subscribers will still have to pay an extra fee- to the tune of $30! That’s right, you will have to pay $30 to see Mulan, on top of your regular subscription fee. Disney has confirmed that this will not be a one time rental, the movie will be available to be streamed as long as the subscriber holds an active Disney+ subscription.
If you love Mulan, make sure you also check out all the great items that ShopDisney has available! I want so many of them!
When asked about other movies, such as Black Widow, Disney CEO Bob Chapek said on an earnings call: “Were very pleased to bring Mulan to our consumer base who has been waiting a long, long time for this release. But we’re looking at Mulan as a one-off as opposed to a new business model. That said, this is a new business model and we will be monitoring the transactions very closely.”
The film was originally slated to be released March 27th, followed by July 24th and August 21st. I’m excited that it has finally made it onto the platform!
What do you think? Will you pay $30 to stream Mulan?
