You can get Universal tickets at Costco sometimes, and the price is very reasonable. You might want to check with your local store. The annual passes are pretty cheap to buy, if you plan to go again within a year. We try to get 3-4 visits with our annual passes, and it’s a good value.
Hi my husband and i stayed at all star movies for our honeymoon and 13 yeara later are going back to stay there.with our 9 & 7 year old.boys! Cant wait till november. One thing i noticed they dis improve on was every room now has a fridge. You used to have to rent one for $10 a day or just use the.ice machine and ice bucket. I love the themes. We had a mighty ducks.pool right outside our room. Cant wait to see the kids reaction!!!
We are planning a family vacation in 2014 and we will have a 6 and 7 year old girls who want to do the Bibbity Bobbity Boutique and someone gave one of the girls a t-shirt with Cinderella and the name of the Boutique on and I want to get the other one also but have never seen them any ideas on how to find one?
Hi Kristin, let me start by saying Thank You for a great website!! I literally discovered it last night as I was searching for different disney options. We are hopefully going this June/July for first time. My kids are 10 and 7. We are looking to stay at the Port Orleans-Riverside. My question is about the dining plans. The dining deluxe looks like the one for us as we love going out to eat on any vacation. We will be staying for 9 nights. Please share your experience with said plan. Thanks!
Southwest has the best rates to Orlando than any other carrier. We always fly to Disney and no one else can touch their prices, plus first two bags are free! You can’t book through Disney, but just book through SW and then call Disney and give them your information to set up Disney Magical Express pickup from the airport. I am an authorized Disney Travel Planner and I do this all the time for my clients. I don’t make any money if they book through SW but it’s cheaper for them and that’s more important :)
Angela, I know you didn’t ask me but I figured I would chime in. I stayed at Pop Century which is also a value level resort with similar pricing to the All Star Resorts. Pop Century does not share a bus like the others and the food is said to be better. I would look at Pop Century before the All Stars.
Can you provide more info regarding the bus sharing? It is quicker to get to the parks (i.e., no extra stops at other resorts?)? Trying to figure out where to stay and minimize the amount of time spent on buses between the resort and parks. Thanks!
Thought I would chime in here since I have stayed at all of the Value Resorts. If I do choose to be at Disney longer (for like 10 days or so), I tend to stay at a value resort and I always pick Pop Century because of the bus sharing. All three of the all-star hotels share the buses and it tends to take forever when you have to stop at each one before your hotel. Pop Century has its own bus. The only thing that I noticed though, is that there are more All-Star buses in circulation, so you might sit waiting for your Pop Century bus while three different All-Star buses come around. I prefer the Pop Century buses though because you get in, get your seat, and know you are going right to your resort and there is not all of the stopping and letting people off, then going again. Pop Century is also newer than the All-Star hotels and we tend to have a better time there.
I have a 9 year old little boy with autism. We promised him, if he started to speak, we would take him to every Disney Park in the WORLD. Well, with the help of some alzheimer medication, our son started speaking last summer. So our trips began…
We went to Disney World in Orlando for a week in June 2011,
Hong Kong Disney in August 2011,
Tokyo Disney in August 2011, and then school started back.
This summer we went to Disneyland in California in June 2012, and we just returned from Paris Disney. We actually were there for the 20th Anniversary of Paris Disney. It was a fantastic ending to our Celebration of our son’s accomplishments! :D
I have a child with autism too. Thanks for sharing your story! I am so happy for your family! Maybe my Noah needs that sort of motivation to speak. ;-)
I want to say thank you for all the work you do and all the tips and tricks you provide. I was wondering do you purchase trip insurance when you go and why you choose to or not to? Thanks!
I just wrote a post about how we saved on our hotel at Disneyland. We got 6 FREE nights at the Courtyard Marriott which made our week stay in Southern California that much more affordable.
Hi Kristin! I was wondering what your thoughts were on Disney’s All Star Movies Resort. We live two hours south of Orlando and have 2 days left on our 3 day passes getting ready to expire May 7. On a budget…yet not wanting to miss out on our other two days. It would be my husband and I and my 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son. Would like to stay on property and someplace with dining for ease of kids. I like the price point on this resort..and the theme for the kids…but don’t know if there are any other “better” options. Thanks so much for your time! Angela
Angela I just wanted to say Ive stayed there 2 times and never had any issues. The rooms were always clean and the pools were nice. Everything is very heavily themed so its fun for kids! Art of Animation and Pop Century are supposed to be a little more “upscale” as far as the value resorts go but I cant speak for those as Ive never stayed. Movies was a fun resort. Have a good trip!
Hi. I was wondering where i can get cheap tickets for Universal Studios for 2 days. We are going July 11th and 12th. Any suggestions?

I am curious about this answer. Do replies show up somewhere else?
Did anyone ever get an answer on this?
We have booked our trip for june 2013. What airlines or websites have the best rates or discounts?
