Now this is the life. The Magic Kingdom by day and the beaches at night. One day Ill stay here, but for now we will just enjoy this bliss for free. Any Disney resort guest can visit any Disney resort for two or three hours for free. Just show your room key.
I am currently swinging and watching the kids play at the waters edge. It’s wonderful. Wishes at 9 pm and they pipe the music in. I can’t wait.
The castle is already changing colors. I love Disney! and I love you guys!!!
On the Poly beach

I forgot to add that we love to watch wishes from the balcony at the Contemporary resort! Next to where the monorail enters the hotel!
We have stayed off Disney property before and spent time at the Disney resorts. Is it something new that you have to show your key? They have restaurants and shops that I would think that they would want everyone to use. How do they keep track of who is staying on Disney property and who isn’t?
Just today my son who turned 4 in March was telling his cousins about the castle changing colors. And people say kids don’t remember things. We were last there in November.
You are so good at this blog and saving that I bet you could save enough money for the Poly. But of course, I’m like you, I like the value resorts, especially with kids.
So glad to hear that you like this resort…as I’ve been researching the different resorts the Ploy was one of my top choices.
I didn’t know you could do that. We will definitely do that when we go to watch the fireworks!!
All we did was show our card. He didn’t write anything down, we didn’t swipe our card, nothing. Yes you can go to every one. They call it resort hopping. You can do everything at the resort but use their pool. :)
Wow, There is Dole Whip at the Poly….Who knew!!!
While staying at the Disneyland hotel the pool was closed, so we headed over to Disney’s Grand CA hotel and played in their pool for hours. It was so much fun because it had water slides, and drinks poolside. Ahhhh memories.
So glad you are having a great time at Disney!
It is a truely magical place :-D
That’s where we stay and that’s the reason why!
I love the fireworks!!!!
How fun! I would love to stay at the Poly someday. We’ll have to settle for an O’Hana breakfast for this year. Have some Kona coffee for me while you’re there!
BTW- Be careful about that water. As Pete says, “Stay out of the damn lakes!”
I had no idea of that. I am curious how they track how long you’re there. Can you visit each one if you had the time? Could you go back for a couple of hours the next day?
I would love to watch Wishes from the Poly beach one day. It sounds fabulous. :) Glad to hear you’re having such a nice time.
I love watching the castle change colors…….awesome!!!!! How warm is it now?
That sounds amazing!!
Sounds fun! How does the resort know you are only there for a few hours…it seems like you could stay all day once you get inside.
I’ve stayed at Disney Resorts for YEARS and never knew I could visit other resorts! Awesome!! Just a thought…you should do a “disney spending” budget while you’re there! Let us know what you’re spending on and how quickly it goes!! :) I’m curious to see how others spend their money at Disney, and what people splurge on or scrimp on. Have fun!
That sounds awesome. If we get to go for more than a couple of days I would like to check that out!
Wow, enjoy it for all of us who can’t be there!
You do realize that probably 100’s of us are checking your updates regularly in an attempt to live vicariously through you :) Wish i were there too. What a great idea about going over there to watch the fireworks! I didn’t know you could go to all the other restorts just to look around. I thought you had to be going to a restaurant or something. Thanks for the tip!
Wish I were there! I may have to check the fireworks out from that beach when we go. I’ve never done that before!
We’ve watched the fireworks from the Poly Beach on two different trips. I sat in the swing and it was soooooo peaceful.
We love getting Dole Whips at the Poly.
