We have always enjoyed the Italian faire from Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano in Hollywood Studios. It is a well air conditioned classic take on a New York City Italian restaurant.
One of the yummiest things about Mama Melrose’s is their bread service. It is much appreciated when you are hungry from a busy day in the park. They also accompany the bread with an olive oil/balsamic dip.
If you want to have a Lady and the Tramp throwback, the Spaghetti and Meatballs is pretty good. It could have used a slice of yummy garlic toast on the side though!
Mama’s Italian Pasta with Chicken is a spaghetti and vegetables tossed with roasted garlic and tomato fresh basil. My daughter ordered this and was very disappointed in her choice. She swapped with Jason (who had gotten the spaghetti and meatballs) and was much happier with them. I think it was more of her personal preference versus the dish. Jason polished it off, so it must have been good….right?
The Oven-baked Chicken alla Parmigiana is scrumptious and definitely hits the spot. My son ordered it and said he liked it better than any other restaurant’s that he has tried.
We will definitely be back to Mama Melrose again. I think this was our 5th visit overall.
