I vividly remember the day in 2009 I decided to take my kids to Walt Disney World.
I had been to Disney once before in 1993. We went for one miserable day right after Christmas and it was wall to wall people. I even remember my mother asking a Cast Member when the best time to come to Disney was. We waited almost an hour to ride Dumbo and we rode a couple more attractions and that was it. We got nothing done and didn’t have much to show for it (we don’t even have a picture).
So deciding to take my kids after that experience was frightening and overwhelming. I did what any crazed mama would do… I read over 30 different Disney guide books. I read everything on the Disney website. I read popular blogs and message boards. I learned everything that I could about the trip. I spent well over 300 hours planning that trip.
We went and we fell in love. I started this blog just a month after we returned from that trip. We’ve taken multiple trips since then and in May of 2015 we relocated to the Orlando area.
I also decided to write my own guidebook. I wanted to the book to be simple to understand and follow. I also wanted it to have worksheets that could be used to organize every aspect of a Walt Disney World vacation (I am an organizer by nature).
I spent hundreds of hours pouring everything that I have learned about Walt Disney World into this book. And I really can’t believe how far I have come in 7 years. From a woman who was scared to take her kids on their first real vacation to someone who helps others overcome that same feeling.
