Recently we reported that Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort will remain closed until Summer 2021. This is due to a refurbishment of the Great Ceremonial House. Also due to this, the monorail service is being suspended starting in October 2020 at this Resort.
Now, we have new details from a Disney World spokeswoman as reported by Orlando Sentinel:
A Disney World spokeswoman on Monday said changes to the rooms will include a move to a Pacific Ocean-inspired color palette as well as details, patterns and textures from Disney’s “Moana,” an animated film that takes place on the Polynesian island of Motunui.
I am so excited to see the transformation!

So what’s going to happen to Stitch? Are they kicking him to the curb? To redo the Polynesian means getting rid of Ohana’s. I love Moana but sometimes Disney should learn that if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. Ohana means family and family means no one gets left behind. So sorry Stitch, they have not just left you they dumped you. Not happy.
I’m still recovering from them removing the waterfall from the Great Ceremonial House! The Polynesian has been my favorite resort, but I guess they want to make it more appealing to the kiddos.
AGREED! I loved that waterfall!!
