Locations:
Rainforest Café – There are 2 Rainforest Café locations at Walt Disney World. Find one location in Disney Springs at the Marketplace area (featuring an erupting Volcano) and the other at Animal Kingdom’s Entrance (with a door outside the park entrance).
T-Rex Restaurant is only located at Disney Springs at Disney World. Also found in the Marketplace area.
Guests may eat at any of these locations without a park ticket. Do note: Rainforest Cafe’s are more prevalent across the USA than T-REX.
Theming:
Rainforest Café puts guests in the midst of a tropical rainforest complete with moving animals and thunderstorms. Hear elephants and birds while you dine, and gaze at the fish tanks and more.
T-Rex Restaurant brings guests back to prehistoric times, when Dinosaurs roamed the earth. See life-sized animatronic dinosaurs and a meteor shower while you dine.
Food:
Rainforest Café – The amazing salads are recommended, such as: Big Islander Chicken Caesar Salad and the Volcanic Cobb Salad. Also, only offered here is the, Sparkling Volcano (for 3+), a spectacular dessert perfect for any celebration. Choose a Smoothie or Freeze such as a Key Wester or Raspberry Lemonade Freeze and you get to keep the glass.
T-Rex Restaurant – A must try are the amazing ribs, Mega Mes-O-Bones. They also have unique desserts to share: Chocolate Extinction (for 4) or Meteor Donut Bites (for 2). Order a T-Rex Character Cup, a layered flavor ICEE in a collectible souvenir cup.
Also, both offering Appetizers, soups & salads, Seafood, Sandwiches & Burgers, Pastas, Chicken & Beef dishes, similar children’s menus, sides, drinks (plus alcohol) and more.
Extra Tips:
T-Rex Restaurant – Visit Build-A-Dino, which is run by Build-A-Bear and bring home your very own dinosaur. Select clothes, sounds and more just as with Build-A-Bear. Also, this restaurant features a dig zone named, Paleo Zone, where children can dig for fossils and more.
Rainforest Café at Animal Kingdom has a “secret” entrance. If you get to the parks and find the line to enter long, instead enter the parks through the Rainforest Café Gift Shop exit. Not many know about this 2nd entrance into Animal Kingdom.
Consider becoming a member of Landry’s Select Clubs which works with Rainforest Café, T-Rex Café and Yak & Yeti Restaurants at Walt Disney World.
Past guests have found the food at Rainforest Café slightly better while the atmosphere at T-Rex was more appealing. They both have amazing features. Therefore, it really comes down to which theming you prefer – rainforest animals or dinosaurs?
