Do you love the smell of plug-in air fresheners but hate the price of the refills? I know I do, so I came up with a quick, simple way to refill them for a fraction of the cost! All you need is your empty refill, a butter knife, essential oil of your choice (I know Kristin has some great smelling ones) and water.
Use the butter knife to gently pop or pry the top off the empty refill. Rinse out any remaining liquid.
Add 10-15 drops of essential oil to your empty refill. Then fill the rest of the way with water, stopping about 1/2 inch from the top, to ensure your top will fit properly, without overflowing.
Pop the top of the refill back on, and voila, a “new” refill for just a few pennies!
Kristi is a stay-at-home homeschooling mom of two. She loves complete DIY projects especially ones that saves her money.
Im interested in coupon
Didn’t work for me no smell noticed
Me either
Where can I buy new wicks the one thats in it is saturated with the fragrance that was in there.
Can I refill with perfume instead?
You can add water with the oil? Thanks for the tip this is what i was looking for.
this way only lasts 4 days tops, very expensive on essential oils, instead of adding all water try two teaspoons of olive oil, then top with water
Do you need a new wick? Mine is saturated with the original fragrance.
I’m not doing it to go to Disney, but I would live some of your couping ideas:)
Love to save money! Never been to Disney either. Isn’t there ways to make monthly payments until time if trip????? I have been to Florida twice and both times I was not impressed. However Disney or a cruise might just be what I need.
Thank you for any and all your ideas.
What is your opinion of online grocery shopping with coupons? Here in the Chicago area we have no stores that offer double coupons and taxes are extremely high on food and non food items.
There was a website someone started for CVS. It told you what and how to purchase things starting in January throughout the year- boy oh boy, that man had a ton of bargains and freebies.
I know it takes time and patience, so far I haven’t been to wise I guess- it seems I miss fine print in every coupon or store never has the exact specified product.
So anyway, again…..Thank you much. Best Wishes saving money, crafting, mom-ing and all that you do.
Hi I’m new to trying the couponing. I want to know how people get all kind’s of coupons?
