Are you debating on if renting a stroller for your Walt Disney World vacation is the best option for your family? You’ve worked hard to save and prepare for your trip, don’t sacrifice your comfort when it comes to a stroller for your child. If you don’t feel your personal stroller is worth taking to Disney World….then I would seriously consider renting a stroller from an offsite company like Simple Stroller Rental.
Children up to age 7 (yes, age 7!) could benefit from a stroller at the theme parks. The average adult walks about 12 miles a day around the resort…imagine that on little legs. For your child’s comfort and your sanity, I highly recommend renting a stroller that will accommodate your child.
Your child doesn’t even have to use the stroller constantly throughout the day. It could be a central hub for your family. It is a great place to store your cooler, purchase and park bag (just don’t leave anything valuable unattended) and visit as needed. When we take our stroller into the parks, we usually park it in a Cast Member supervised stroller lot in each land/area of the park (such as the lot by Stitch’s Great Escape in the Magic Kingdom). We stop by as we need more water, snacks, etc.
And then when it is time to move from area to area or to leave for the day, your child has a comfortable place to ride and you have somewhere to hold your items. And if you are leaving after the fireworks (when everyone else is leaving), you are going to be so happy you don’t have to worry about where your child is in the hoard of people. Lifesaver!
The great staff at Simple Stroller Rental will meet you in the lobby of your resort (on property or off-site) anytime between 8 am – 9 pm (you set the meeting time). Many off-site resorts will allow them to drop the stroller off for you. Or you can hop over from one of the theme parks to a nearby Disney Resort to meet them to pick up the stroller. It is a super simple process and it gives you the opportunity to see more of the Disney Resorts. You keep the stroller for the duration of your vacation and then schedule for them to pick it back up when you prepare for your departure.
We used Simple Stroller Rental for Molly Kate when she was a little one (see that review here) and we actually loved the stroller so much that we purchased the same brand for her when we got back to Alabama.
Now that we live in the Orlando area and Disney has updated their stroller policies (Simple Stroller Rental is compliant with specifications and drop offs), they wanted us to give their services a try again.
Since we have to park at the TTC when we drive to the Magic Kingdom, I asked them to meet me at the lobby of the Polynesian Resort (the first stop on the Monorail) to pick up the rental stroller for the day. They gave me a courtesy call 5 minutes before our meeting time to determine the location we would meet in the resort. He arrived on time with the stroller and gave me a brief demonstration of how to use it. Man….it is like the Cadillac of strollers. Even with my 50 pound 5 year old, it still pushed like a dream!
We took the stroller all throughout Magic Kingdom for the day. We enjoyed being able to quickly add and remove our park bag from the storage compartment under the seat. The cup holder was roomy enough to hold 4 water bottles. Everyone fought over who got to push the stroller, because it required so little effort to glide through the crowds.
When it was time to leave on the Monorail, we were able to push the stroller up that steep incline without having to heave and ho. Which that is a true testament of a great stroller!
We met with Simple Stroller Rental at the Contemporary Resort on our way out (since it is the last stop on the Monorail before the TTC). They gave me another courtesy call 5 minutes before the meet up to determine my location. I met up and surrendered the best stroller I have ever pushed around the parks. Like seriously….you are just going to have to try this for yourself.
And guess what… you can! Simple Stroller Rentals is offering an additional 10% off to Couponing to Disney readers by using the code Magical at checkout. You won’t regret renting a stroller even if your child no longer uses one at home.
