I am so proud of Trista! She made a goal and will surpass that by the time her trip comes around. I love her idea of making a visual representation of each thing she wanted to pay off. By taking her huge goal and breaking it down into bite size pieces it seemed more achievable. She was also able to see her progress along the way. Trista shared her story with us in the Savears!
We took our girls to WDW for the first time in 2016. We decided before we left that we’d be back in 2018. I made it my goal to use Swagbucks and my other apps to save up enough to pay for our food, alcohol, souvenirs and any other special activities by May 2018.
About a year ago I posted the first picture to share how I was tracking my savings – I wrote out each item I wanted to save for, and as I earned enough I took down the Mickey and paper clipped it to the money/gift card. The second picture is where I am today – 2 to go!! Once I finish those two I’m going to save up a $200.00 – $300.00 buffer and then maybe get my girls some custom clothes to wear on the trip.
In one year I have saved enough for:
*10 days of dining for 4 (including CRT, Yachtsman and Bon Voyage breakfast) and alcohol
Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique for 2
*Souvenirs for dear husband and I (girls have their own money from gift cards from birthdays/holidays)
*Happily Ever After dessert party
*Albatross adventure cruise from the Yacht Club for 2
I can’t thank Kristin Cooper and all the members here for teaching me how to save through Swagbucks and the apps! I can’t believe I’ve managed to save us $2,000 in such a short amount of time! This year has been a really rough one – my daughter was hospitalized for 5 days in March after having 3 seizures and she unfortunately deals with a lot of things other kids don’t have to. I really wanted to make this trip extra special for her and through this group I will definitely be able to make that wish come true!!
(Thanks Trista)
