Walt Disney Animation Studios has announced that they will be releasing ‘Tangled’ as an animated series in 2017! It has already begun production, and will feature Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi as Rapunzel and Eugene (aka Flynn Rider)! It will be shown on Disney Channels around the world and also reunite Disney Legend and Academy Award-winning composer Alan Menken and lyricist Glenn Slater.
It will be set between the events of the Tangled film and the start of the 2012 short film Tangled Ever After. It will show Rapunzel begin to form a relationship with her parents, her kingdom, and the people of Corona! It’s said that she will put her crown and impending marriage on hold to seek out adventures, to the dismay of the King. After missing his daughter’s youth, he has to learn to accept her as the independent woman that she has become. Eugene will be at her side, along with her long-time sidekick Pascal, Maximus the horse, the Snuggly Duckling Pub Thugs (I love those guys!) and a newcomer named Cassandra, Rapunzel’s handmaiden, who will become her confidant.
