My back to school shopping saga continues.
Previously on “My Oldest Child is Entering Kindergarten and I Don’t Know What I am Doing”: I found out my Glass Slipper’s school does not give a supply list to Kindergarteners until they get their class assignment, which is supposed to be in July. It is July and no list. Since we go back on the 29th, one has to hope it will happen this week. But that’s too long for me to wait! By the time I get that list, all the good deals will be gone. I can’t miss the deals, school!
So I did what any high strung first time Kindergarten mom would do. I finagled a list from last year. I’ve been using this as guideline, grabbing things on the list when I see them on sale, but not stressing about non sale items yet since it could transpire that I get the official list and it is literally nothing like my contraband list.
I headed to Target this weekend to see how they were doing, sale wise. Even though I have very little context on good prices for some of these things, I spotted some good deals. I think.
PS: A lot of these deals are the same online, so you can beat the heat and just have them drop the supplies off at your house!
Elmer’s Glue for $.50, with the Target Up & Up for $.40.
Expo markers down to $3.79. I grabbed some of those!
Up & Up Washable Classic Color Markers only $.65, originally $2.99. I don’t need these for school, but I got them for home because deal.
Same thing with these colored pencils! At almost $1 off, they were perfect for replenishing our at home arts & craft supplies.
50% off 1 inch binders! One came home with us.
If you’re into planners and organizers, now is a good time to grab one.
All the glue sticks!
Amazed by the glue sticks. “Mama, do I need all these glues for school?”
Folders for $.50.
Rulers for $.25. Ignore those rogue scissors.
- Up & Up Facial Tissues (2)-$2.58.
- Expo Dry Erase Markers, 4 pack-$3.79. Originally $4.49.
- Up & Up Binder-$1.85. Originally $3.59.
- Up & Up Colored Pencils-$.50. Originally $1.49.
- Up & Up Markers-$.65. Originally $2.99.
- Up & Up Index Cards-$.50.
Total Spent: $9.87
Original Retail: $15.64
Total Saved: $5.77
I actually have almost the whole list. A few things keep alluding me, though. I need a two pack of white erasers, but all I can find is pink? Also, what is an art box? I’ve seen pencil cases. I’ve seen paper folders. But I cannot find an art box to save my life.
You know what will be nice? By this time next week, I will have this year’s list and, big dreams here, maybe I can trick my way into getting a First Grade list, too. Then, I can hit up those Back to School clearance sales in a few weeks. You know how I love a clearance sale. It’s when I’m in my element. I’ll know what I need, I’ll know the drill, I’ll be all set for next year, and I can take a breath and rest easy until next fall.
Do you love Target as much as I do? Do you know you can get a 40$ off a trip of $40 coupon right now? That’s free Target run, y’all! You could buy all the art boxes! If you don’t have a Red Card already, check out this option for back to school saving.
How’s your back to school shopping? Where’s your favorite Back to School spot? Do you know what an art box is? Am I the only one hitting new stress levels with Back to School shopping? Tell me your thoughts in the comments!
