If you are looking to trim the final cost, here are 5 things to skip at Walt Disney World to save money.
Park Hopper – Priced at $85 per ticket, skipping this can save a family of 4 approximately $340 on the cost of their trip. And as long as you plan, you won’t even feel like you are missing out by not hopping.
Park Hopper Plus Option – Priced at $105 per ticket (includes park hopper) skipping this option could save a family of four $80+ (depending on if you were doing the Park Hopper option). Enjoy your resort pool instead.
Sodas and Bottled Water – Instead of paying $3.99 for a soda or bottled water, bring your own into the parks with you. You are allowed to bring in a soft sided cooler. You can also request free ice water at any restaurant or snack station that serve fountain sodas. This could save a family of 4 approximately $16-$32 per day.
Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique – As fun as these add-on experiences can be, they also add a hefty price tag to your vacation. Skip these and instead bring things from home to style your children like their favorite princess or pirate. This could save a family approximately $75 per child.
Dining Plan – Don’t assume you HAVE to have the dining plan in order to enjoy Disney. You can pay out of pocket for a few Table-Service meals and dine on Quick-Service meals and come in under what you would have paid for the plan. Careful research is needed to determine if this is what is best for your family. Skipping this can save a family of four $312 per night (that amount does not factor in how much you will spend out of pocket on food without the dining plan).
Souvenirs – Pick up some items on sale from ShopDisney.com while they are on sale and bring them with you. Or you can budget $25 – $30 per person and let them pick out 1-2 items that suits their taste.
