Have you ever wondered why the hike into Epcot is so brutal? When you are eager to get to Frozen Ever After, Soarin’ or Test Track and your legs feel like they are on FIRE as you hike past Spaceship Earth?
It is because there is a service tunnel that is large enough for trucks (yes, trucks!) to delver food and merchandise to Future World. The service tunnel stretches 700 feet. It runs from Innoventions East, under Spaceship Earth and ends at Innoventions West.
So that big hill you hike trying to get to your favorite ride is because you are hiking over trucks that are running beneath your feet.
Arrow in this aerial at a service tunnel for the former Innoventions. Large enough for trucks to deliver food and merchandise, and also remove refuse. When you cross an elevation near Spaceship Earth you are actually crossing the service tunnel. pic.twitter.com/GkOAhOHaOo
