Budgeting for a Disney World vacation should also include tipping. Learn who you should have cash on hand for, what you need to know about tipping while dining out and non-tipped positions at Disney World. Plus, Cast members are not able to accept cash tips (if they do they will be turning it into management and not keep it), therefore learn other ways to thank them with items they can keep.
Cash Tips To Have On Hand:
- Anyone who handles your luggage – Such as the Magical Express Driver & Bell Services. This is not necessary but customary for many. Appropriate tip average is $1.00-$2.00 per luggage handled.
- Mousekeeping – Tips average $1.00 per person, per day and some even make Mousekeeping envelopes.
- Valet – If you choose to use this service, tipping is customary.
- Additional Tipped Services throughout Parks, Resorts and at Disney Springs (include, but not limited to): Hair Wrapping, Hair cuts, Spa services, Art of Shaving.
Dining Tips
Tipping at Restaurants – 18%- 20% of total bill is average. Also your receipt will show you the appropriate tip options. For parties of 6 or more an automatic 18% gratuity will be added. Tipping at restaurants is expected.
Tipping at a Buffet may be a surprise to some as a Buffet suggests self-service. However, the cast members at buffets still refill drinks, clear plates and such to make the Buffets run smoothly. Tipping averages 18%-20% off total bill. For parties of 6 or more an automatic 18% gratuity will be added.
Tipping On The Dining Plan – Keep in mind the Disney Dining Plan covers the meals and excludes tips.
