Are you planning on booking a meal or two? Here are 7 tips for table service dining in Animal Kingdom.
1. Book an early morning breakfast at Tusker House – If you book a reservation before the park opens, you’ll be able to score some awesome pictures of your family in front of the Tree of Life. You might also be able to get out of the restaurant in time to beat the crowds to Kilimanjaro Safaris.
2. Book a meal around 1:30 PM – If you are planning on being in Animal Kingdom all day, book a reservation for around 1:30 PM at a table service restaurant. This will allow you at least 1 – 1 1/2 hours of wonderful air conditioning during the hottest part of the day.
3. Book a dining package – If you are planning on seeing The Jungle Book: Alive With Magic, plan on booking one of the dining packages that come with Fastpass tickets to the show. That will give you more park time plus you will enjoy a delicious meal.
4. Dine with the characters – There aren’t many table service options at Animal Kingdom. Tusker House offers character dining at all 3 of their meals. You’ll get to meet Mickey, Donald, Goofy and Daisy. Plan on booking this meal if you have little kids and venturing out to other cuisines in the other parks.
5. Pay out of pocket – Rainforest Cafe and Yak and Yeti are both inexpensive Table Service meals (they are both even owned by Landry’s). If you have a meal that you will need to pay out of pocket for, these 2 meals are a great choice.
6. Enjoy a date night – With the new nighttime entertainment options, Animal Kingdom has become a great spot for date night. Book a reservation at Tiffins and enjoy a delicious meal and time with your significant other.
7. Expect paper straws – Even the table service restaurants use paper straws in the Animal Kingdom. Ask your server for two per person as they start to disintegrate about halfway through your meal.
