If you are visiting Walt Disney World for 2 days, you are going to need to figure out which parks that you will visit and when.
Park Hopper
Some people who are visiting for a short time might elect to pay the extra money and purchase Park Hopper on their Disney World tickets. This enables you to visit more than one park per day.
If you want to see all 4 of the Disney Parks, your schedule could look like this:
Morning #1 – Magic Kingdom
Afternoon #1 – Hollywood Studios
Morning #2 – Animal Kingdom
Afternoon #2 – Epcot
Make sure that you arrive to the parks at least 30 minutes before they open, use your Fastpass+ reservations for the park in the afternoon and stay as late as possible.
If you wanted to limit it to 1 park per day, you would need to eliminate 2 parks from your itinerary. Which ones to choose? Here are some things to consider about each park.
Magic Kingdom – Ideal for everyone young and old, but kids under 12 will love this park most of all. There is so much to see and do in Fantasyland. For older kids/adults there are 4 different rides that are sure to thrill you: Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Splash Mountain, 7 Dwarfs Mine Train and Space Mountain. I personally could spend 2 days in this park and never see and do everything.
Epcot – This park is more for older kids, teens and adults. Although they do add characters and a few kid friendly attractions, younger kids aren’t going to enjoy it as much as they will the Magic Kingdom. For the rest of us, Soarin’ and Test Track are amazing attractions that make Epcot worth your while. Touring the World Showcase is both an educational and enjoyable experience especially if you visit during Flower and Garden Festival in the spring, Food and Wine in the fall or during the Christmas season.
Hollywood Studios – This park is currently under construction and there is not as much currently open. You can still experience Toy Story Mania, Rock N Roller Coaster and the Tower of Terror. There are a few shows you can watch: Beauty and the Beast, Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular, The Little Mermaid and Lights! Motor! Action! You can also meet about 15 different characters. There is enough here to fill in a day if everything at the park appeals to you. Otherwise purchase Park Hopper and spend part of her day here.
Animal Kingdom – This park is all about the animals. Kilimanjaro Safaris will take you on a voyage through the African savanna where you will see a multitude of animals. You can take a walking tour of Pangani Forest Exploration Trail or Maharajah Jungle Trek. You can travel by train out to Rafiki’s Planet Watch where you can pet the animals. You can take a thrill ride on Everest, Kali River Rapids, Primeval Whirl or Dinosaur. You can sit and watch the stage shows of Lion King and Finding Nemo. There are also a multitude of characters that you can meet. This park is great for all ages!
Here is my recommendations based on the youngest age in your party:
Kids 2-5 – Magic Kingdom for both days or Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom
Kids 5-9 – Magic Kingdom for both days or Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom or Epcot
Kids 9-12 – Magic Kingdom and Epcot
Kids 12-18 – Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios in the morning and Epcot in the afternoon of the 2nd day
Adults – Magic Kingdom and Epcot
Whatever you choose to do, as long as you have a plan you can get a lot done in just 2 days.
Here are 6 Fastpass+ reservations you have to book at 60 days out.
