When you are booking a Magic Your Way Package for Walt Disney World, tickets are a must, right? How else are you supposed to enjoy all that the Walt Disney World Resort has to offer if you don’t have park tickets? However, in my daily conversations with guests and helping them determine the best way to utilize their time at the Walt Disney World Resort, it often comes up that they have questions about tickets. Which type, what are the stipulations, what exactly are they buying and what will it get them when they are on property….and with several options, I can see why it can be a bit confusing. Let’s take a look at the Walt Disney World Ticket Options and how to use them.
If I want to visit more than one Disney park during my stay, do I need the Park Hopper option on my ticket? No, you do not. Park Hopper allows you to visit multiple Disney parks in ONE day, not over the course of several days. You also do not need the park hopper if you are leaving a park in the afternoon and returning to the SAME park in the evening.
What does the WaterParks Fun and More Option allow me to do? This option allows you to visit Disney’s Blizzard Beach, Typhoon Lagoon, DisneyQuest, ESPN Wide World of Sports, Oak Trail Golf Course, Fantasia Mini Golf, and Winter Summerland Miniature Golf Course. This is a ticket add-on option that you add to your base or park hopper ticket that is on your Magic Your Way Package.
I have a 4-Day Base Ticket on my Walt Disney World package. What does this entitle me to? You are entitled to visit the Disney parks four times during your stay. You can use this in any combination you choose. For example, you can use 3 of the 4 days at Magic Kingdom and then visit Epcot for one day. Or you can use one day at each of Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Epcot, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Another option is to split it two and two with two days at Epcot and two at Magic Kingdom. The combinations are endless!
Must I have park tickets for the length of my stay at Walt Disney World? No, you do not. For example, you can book a 5 night 6 day trip to Walt Disney World and only have 4 days worth of park tickets. My family does this all the time. We stay for 6 nights and have 4 or 5 {at the most} days of tickets. This allows us some down time on our arrival and departure days, as well as a day in the middle of our trip to enjoy the resort, Downtown Disney, etc.
How can I get the most out of my time at Walt Disney World and use my tickets effectively? It really varies for every family. However, I think the average family can enjoy Walt Disney World with a 4 day ticket. The Park Hopper option is a fantastic value, and allows you much more flexibility. However for first time visitors, I think hopping can be overwhelming and base tickets are perfect. If you are traveling in the summer or early fall months, I think the WaterParks Fun and More Option is almost a “must”. It gets so hot in FL, and the Waterparks are a great way to enjoy some fun and cool off. It also elongates your entertainment options while you are at Disney.
