We are on our way to MK right now. As I have said before, always pay attention at Disney. We saw the bus stop full and all the people piled on the bus. Standing room only! Well we saw a second bus pulling in….. So we waited and the bus has tons of empty seats !!! HAhahaha!!!!
I hate buses, in general, especially standing on them. I have this great fear that I will fall on some one! So I will always wait for an emptier one :)
My son loves the buses too. So we always use them. We will use our van to go to DTD or off property and that is about it.
As far as your bus maneuver, we do that all the time. Especially at closing time for the parks, when it’s sometimes one bus right after another. Really pay attention. Also pay attention to whether it is a new bus or an old bus. The old ones are harder to get on and off of with kids and also seems to have less setting to me.
We even got off of a bus one time, when another one pulled up, because they were loading someone in a scooter on our bus and it was an old bus, where it takes forever for this to happen. So us and several others saw another bus for our park pull up and we got off our bus and on that one. We got to MK several minutes before the other bus.
I’m so glad you got on the empty bus! That never happens to us when we’re waiting for ART bus at DL.
We love the buses too! We hardly ever use our vehicle. My kids love the buses too much!!
It’s a Mickey Harness and I got it off Amazon. His tail is the strap and it unattached easily.
I loved staying at the Pop Century it seemed to have the shortest bus route to the parks out of all the value hotels.

We love being able to park the car and not get in until we are leaving. The only time we will drive is if we are going to Downtown Disney. The Bus system is great. On our first visit we had to wait about 30 mins. but this was because our bus broke down. They had another bus take us fairly quickly. My only complaint is how crowded they can be especially after the parks close.

I am SO jealous…my kids are 4 and 2 right now and so we are SAVING and going for 2 weeks when they are 10 and 8…I live just TOO far away (utah) to take them now…not worth it! I have been 3 times and just miss it terribly! Luckily, Disneyland is close enough that we can get out fill often! Have SO MUCH FUN!

We drive to Disney so sometimes we take our own car and sometimes we use the buses. It all depends on EXACTLY where we are headed and how much time we have to get there. We love taking the bus to Magic Kingdom because it saves time. The bus drops you off right at the entrance to MK. When you drive you have to take the monorail or boat over to MK from the parking lot.

We have always driven into the parks from our on property resort. With 3 young kids it was just easier. We also never stayed that many days so time was precious to us. We used to monorail to hop from MK to EPCOT or the boat to HS. I think the timing for bus and driving are about the same.

We always drive to Disney from Michigan so we have our car there. We drive to the parks daily and LOVE it! We will drive and park to use the monorail but that is the only transportation we use. Tried the buses one year and don’t like to wait, even though sometimes the wait is not long.

I’m curious, do you see any value in taking your car to the park instead of doing the bus system? I’m tempted to take our car instead of dealing with buses and waiting!
