The Walt Disney World Wine and Dine is almost here. With just a few short weeks left, runners are feverishly finishing up their final training runs and putting the final touches on their costumes. Last year it was unseasonably cold and most of the runners were calling it the Dine and Dash. Runners are watching the reports very closely.
This race is only one left in the runDisney calendar of events that is still held at night. Which gives you a whole new perspective on the three parks you run through during the half marathon. Your evening is topped off with an exclusive finish line party at the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival. This race is on my bucket list and tends to sell out fast, wait they all do that.
Since the Wine and Dine is right around the corner, that to me, is the beginning of the “running season” for Disney. All the upcoming races are..
- Wine and Dine 11/6
- WDW Marathon 1/6/2016
- Star Wars Half Marathon (DL) 1/14/2016
- Princess Half Marathon 2/18/2016
- Star Wars Half Marathon – Dark Side 4/14/2016
- Tinker bell Half Marathon 5/5/2016
A little break for the summer
- Disneyland Half Marathon 9/1/2016
- Disneyland Paris Half Marathon 9/23/2016

Since all those are sold it, it’s hard to participate in the upcoming months, but runDisney has released the schedule for all the way into 2017. With a lot of those races opening the first race opening for registration Feb. 2, 2016. Plenty of time to train.
I am still training for the Princess Half and think I will be adding the Wine and Dine to my schedule next year, it’s one of those have to do.
