If you are thinking about replacing something in your house, give it a coat of paint first. It’s amazing how paint can improve the appearance of just about anything! I’ve seen people paint kitchen counters, kitchen cabinets, faucets, doors, etc and they look as good as new for about $20.

I had my husband take down and paint my hallway lights to match a new fan I purchased for my living room. They now look great and look like I purchased them that way. It saved me about $100.

I haven’t been to Target since mid January!!! I can’t believe how much money I have saved :) I could go in for one item and end up spending $100 on useless stuff easily! It took a few weeks to withdraw and every once in a while I feel the urge to check those dollar racks, but I always fight it.

I needed picture frames and my mom was throwing some out. I took them off her hands and painted about 7 of them the same color. I even used sample paint from Glidden that was mailed to me during one of their promotions. So, I got 7 new to me frames plus the paint, for absolutely free!

aquarium sealant is my money saving/house saving tip. Our bathroom sinks leaked, but I put aquarium sealer on the underside and the leaks stopped. We used it to glue the mirror back on our truck, too.
We spray painted the mirror on our van because it was cheaper to buy a mirror that didn’t match and paint it. We got a new black/stainless stove but couldn’t afford a new range hood, so we painted the old one black and it looks awesome.

Have you tried the Endust for scratches? It’s about $4-$5 (reg price) and it works wonders! It works well on darker wood really well. Good luck! (Or, you could try a Sharpie if the Endust is too dark!) Good luck!
