If you have veggies that are about to go bad or even some that were left from dinner, throw them into a container in your freezer. You can use them to make veggie broth or veggie stew.

I also do this with really brown bananas. I put them in the freezer and then use them later for banana bread or smoothies.

Left over spaghetti sauce or other spreadable sauce that’s a serving or less goes onto pizza dough for another meal. Left over veggies go into a broth soup or on top of a salad. The salad is often called Fridge Salad.

I’ve always done this. I also put left over spaghetti sauce or anything there is just a spoon or so of. Then when we make it, I call it free soup. :)

Fruit (and yogurt) that is about to go bad makes great popsicles and are better for the kids than what you can buy at the store…. I’ve even let my kids eat a fruit and yogurt popsicle for b-fast– and they don’t even know it’s good for them :)

That’s why I love having pigs! :) They get the fruits and veggies that we didn’t eat before they went bad, or that got forgotten in the fridge! :)
