I really like this tip from Cindy since I doubt the fumes knock you over like traditional oven cleaners…
I use vinegar and baking soda to clean my oven. After taking out the rails and putting them outside in the grass. I sprinkle them and the inside of my oven with baking soda. I then take my bottle with half water and half vinegar to spray the rails as well as the oven. I let it sit on them as long as possible. Then wipe down. If caked on mess inside it’s going to take a little elbow grease but it works. I also use that mix for my baking sheets that were gross and a frying pan I couldn’t get clean.

best tip ever!!! did this today and it even removed a huge baked on mess that I could not get off even after I cleaned twice with regular oven cleaner when we bought this house four years ago! plus no horrible smell or self cleaning heat! I am really happy :-))))

That’s a great tip. I was just thinking about getting an over cleanser, but really hate tom use them, because of the fumes.
I use the same exact ingredients for clogged drains. I first pour a gallon of boiling water down the drain to loose up the dirt, than I pour half a cup of baking soda and a cup of vinegar. Once the ingredients are combined they start to bubble up.
I leave the mixture in the drain for 15 minutes and follow up with a gallon of boiling water again. This works for minor clogs, I due this when I see the water going down slower than usual. For major clogs this won’t work and you will need a plumer.

So wipe down the oven, don’t use the self-cleaning option with the baking soda and vinegar in there? Just checking, never actually cleaned my oven before (eek!!!)..

I’ve stopped buying window cleaner and all purpose cleaner and making my own. Vinegar water and dishwashing soap. I use vinegar and water almost exclusively on the tile and took away all the old area rugs as they got used up(less to clean!) Baking soda to scrub the sink to a nice shine. I still use bleach products in the bathroom .. I just can’t think of not bleaching my son’s potty.

Hmmm. I wonder how this would work in the form of a paste.
