Saving money….. now there’s a topic we all love. Most of you are reading my blog because you want to save more money. We save at the grocery store, we save at the drug store, but there are lots of ways we could be saving and stretching our dollar and Couponing to Disney……
I love this tip from my reader Starla as I have a lot of Christmas paper I got for pennies that I am so tired of seeing every Christmas…
My tip is to use old Christmas paper that you hate. Turn it over an use it as shipping paper such as when you sell on ebay. It uses up the wrapping paper, you don’t have to buy shipping paper, and you can’t reuse boxes. You can also use paper shopping bags but who gets thosnice things anymore!
Do you have a money saving tip you’d love to see featured on Couponing to Disney? Be sure to email it to me!

I don’t usually have much leftover Christmas wrapping paper..when I do, I flip it over and let the kids decorate it for another holiday..I also use the Sunday Comics to wrap gifts during the year…
However, I just started couponing in April, so we’ll see what this year brings..lol

I used wrapping paper for shipping one time and was advised by the post office to not use it anymore. They said it rips too easily in the machines, then your package is left without postage and an address.
I like to turn it inside out to wrap birthday gifts, then I let my kids color on it. it’s a fun craft for the kids, and the recipient always gets a kick out of it.

My Aunt always used the Funnies in the newspaper to wrap my kids Birthday gifts every year! LOL We always thought she was a Cheapskate! NOT ANYMORE!!! LOL

1- we try to buy solids or stripes that can be used for birthday wrapping throughput the year (think nontraditional gem tones or solid red, green, etc)- decorated with stickers or the right bow the Christmas paper can make great bday giftwrap!
2- we shred leftover paper – great for stuffing gift bags, filling cookie tins to “cradle” baked goods, or for plain old shipping. I’ve also used for our pet mouse in a pinch…
3- use to cover table for dyeing Easter eggs or to use for kids to paint/color/play doh on!

I do this for other occasions like birthdays – so I don’t have to spend money on bday wrapping paper. Lol.

I use leftover pAper on my table when the kids or I doing crafts. The kids love to be able to make a big mess and not get yelled at! Lol

I stock up on the solid color or winter themed paper (no Santa or Christmas trees) to use for other occasions.

that’s a great idea! :-) We recently moved, and hubby said “all the wrapping paper that doesn’t fit into the little plastic holder has to go!” So I took all the paper off the rolls, one at a time, and rolled them onto another one. So now, I have 6 rolls of Christmas paper on one roll. ROFL

if the kiddos can cover their textbooks, we use the extra wrap for old school book covers the same way as using large brown paper bags

Good idea!

I use all those left over wallet sized pictures you get of your kids from school photo packages or the monster Target package…you get the idea…as gift tags…just hole punch a corner and do your To and From on the back…
Kristin of Couponing to Disney says
That’s an awesome idea! :)

I love the tip for wrapping paper and the cards. I save cards that I receive from year to year… if someone special passes on I save the card the sent the year before so and hang it with new ones from everyone else, that way they are always with us. All the other old ones I use to make tags, for crafts, etc
Tracy says
I’ve done that with wrapping paper! Depending on the paper though, you might have to double it up around the box being shipped. If the paper is thin, it will easily rip.
I’ve also done that with old cards… used birthday cards, valentine cards, etc!
Anyway to reuse and save money is for me, lol.

You can also create your own gift tags by reusing the Christmas Cards you got from previous years. Neatly cut the cover of the card and then use double stick tape to attach it to the package. or punch a hole in the corner and reuse ribbon to attach it to your gift bag.

I love the tips, because it’s such a great idea and I never would have thought of this on my own.

When wrapping paper is on sale after Christmas, I like to buy a few non-theme rolls. Target is great about having some basic polka dots or stripes patterns. These are nice to have around for wrapping birthday gifts all year long.
