Here’s how Lorie adds to her fund…
A fun way to earn money for your trip to Disney is to teach adult education classes. School districts and community centers are always looking for folks to teach classes during the fall and spring. The organizations provide the advertising, registration, and the space, you provide the fun! I was able to add $80 to my savings for just a few hours of my time!
Last fall I taught two classes: Discover Disney and Couponing 101. Each class was two hours long. During Discover Disney, I focused on tips and tricks for a hassle free Disney vacation with family of all ages. I typed up a list of helpful websites (including C2D!) and tips which the school printed for free, then tailored the conversation to the needs of the class participants. This class was attended by folks who were finishing their planning for Spring Break and several who go to Disney 3 times a year! We had a lot of fun chatting about or favorite topic and I was able to convince a Grandma that she would have fun with her 9 year old Granddaughter in Disney!
The Couponing 101 class focused on how to know if your couponing is working. I showed the class how to set a grocery budget, how to track savings, and how to get things for free. I was surprised that no one in the class knew what they spent on groceriesor how long toiletries such as toothpaste last in their home! Again, I created a 2-page handout which the school printed for free!
