Choosing the “best” time to visit Walt Disney World is one of the first steps to planning your Walt Disney World vacation. Crowds, weather, your school schedule, sports, and many other factors can play a huge role in the “best” time to make a trip to Orlando. For every family, it is different! For us, the “best” time in early June. For seven years, our family has made our annual Disney trip at the beginning of June since it works best for our children and school. Many guests like to escape the winter weather, so early in the year is their favorite time! Then you have others who don’t want to miss Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party….see what I mean? When is the “best” time? I don’t think there is a “best” time, but there are some important factors to consider to be sure your family chooses a time that works for you! As we end 2015, many people are thinking of their vacations for 2016. So today, we are going to talk about Choosing the Best Time to Visit Walt Disney World.
We would like to plan a Spring Break trip to Walt Disney World. What tips do you have? Spring Break can vary so much from district to district! That being said, Disney can be a great place to visit over Spring Break. I would suggest having park hopper tickets, and planning a day or two to visit the beach. Most of March can be considered “Spring Break”, so it may be a good idea to take a few days off school leading up to or at the end of your break to possibly avoid some crowds.
We are torn between Mickey’s Not so Scary Halloween Party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Which do you recommend? I think it really depends on your family. While the decorations, parade, and atmosphere of Magic Kingdom is wonderful over Christmas, I think you get more experience for your admission during the Halloween Party. The Halloween Party has trick or treating, special character appearances, the parade, and the fireworks. Magic Kingdom is beautiful during both these special times of year, so be sure to visit whether you have a party ticket or not.
When can I book my trip for 2016? Bookings for 2016 opened this past summer, in 2015. You can currently book through the end of 2016. Many guests like to book their trip in January, with their $200 deposit and make payments throughout the year. If you would like to book a Magic Your Way package for 2017, that will be available in the summer of 2016.
Is it too cold in January, February, or March to swim? The air temperature can be in the mid 50s to lower 70s during those times of year. Such a wide range! The resort pools and waterparks all heat their water to 82 degrees. So, if you would like to enjoy a swim in the afternoon, you certainly can! The waterparks do undergo refurbishment early in the year, and are closed for a certain amount of time. Be sure to ask before adding the WaterParks Fun and More Option to your ticket if you are traveling in the early months of the year.
When is the absolute best time to visit Walt Disney World? As you know, it really depends on your family. However, I feel as if the ideal time is mid April to early May. The spring break crowds are gone, the Flower and Garden Festival is happening, and the weather is nice and warm. While I can see why people would visit at any time of year, that is my number one suggestion.
