Here are 5 tips for Disney Character Dining.
Where can I see Mickey and his friends?
You can dine with Mickey and his friends at several locations on Walt Disney World property. Chef Mickey’s at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Cape May at Disney’s Beach Club Resort, Tusker House at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park, O’hana at Disney’s Polynesian Resort, and Garden Grill at EPCOT. If you want to see the “Fab Five”, though, you will want to dine at Chef Mickey’s.
We don’t want to use two dining credits at Cinderella’s Royal Table. Where else can we dine with the princesses?
The princesses are not only at Cinderella’s Royal Table at Magic Kingdom. Akershaus Royal Banquet Hall in EPCOT’s Norway Pavilion is a great alternative to Cinderella’s Royal Table. You are greeted by Belle {currently}, and then other princess friends make their way around the tables greeting guests and signing autographs. Cinderella, Aurora, Ariel, Snow White, and sometimes Jasmine make appearances here. Another alternative is dinner at 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. This dinner is Cinderella, Prince Charming, the wicked stepsisters, and the evil stepmother.
I purchased base park tickets. How do I plan my dining reservations?
I suggest looking at a crowd calendar. From there, decide which park or parks you will visit on each day. Then, call Disney Dining, or hop onto your My Disney Experience account, and start making reservations. Remember, you need a credit card number to hold your reservations and they need to be cancelled 24 hours before to avoid a penalty charge.
Are there any character dining options outside the Disney Parks?
Yes! In fact, there are several of Disney’s character dining options at the Deluxe Resorts! Chef Mickey’s, 1900 Park Fare, O’hana, and Cape May are all at Disney resorts. You don’t even need a park ticket to visit these! And, you can enjoy these character meals even if you aren’t staying at a Disney resort.
How can I get the most out of my character dining experience?
Try to make an ADR for a time when your children are at their “best”. For our family, that is breakfast time. We love starting out our Disney days with a character breakfast. Be prepared to spend at least 90 minutes for your dinner, the character interaction, and just enjoying the experience. Have your camera and autograph books ready!
